IBALLDRIVER: I just bought a Corgi B-17 "Bit O Lace" on ebay. It was $135 plus shipping. In 1:18 scale, what would the actual wingspan of a B-17 be? (Right, I'm too lazy to do the math ... heck, somebody should create a iPhone app to create scale measurements.) i wagged it with a calculator....103 (feet) divided by 18....is 5.77777........................did i do that correctly? roughl...

Looks like the clear winners are the A-10 Warthog, the F-4 Phantom II, and the P-39 Aracobra. What would you consider a fair price for a kit of these? How about a full finished and painted version? b-17 got quite a few mentions, as did the b25 and b26.....bombers never get the love and glory...... ...

b-17 would be sweet..like "better than sex" sweet...how many of us know people who flew the fort? just as many would like to have one and customise it with names and markings....

i looked on flying mule and they seem to be identical. maybe the loadout is different? do the models roll of the same assembly line with one piece going to the left (HM) and the next going to the right (Gemini)?

makes you wonder. HM is rolling out the same paint in june. i have one on preorder at aikens- since early april.
i have been very pleased with both HM A1's so far. very happy.

my add in: JSI is dead to me. i will never, ever order a JSI product. ever. i have finite monies for this hobby. unless they man up to HM quality, whcih seems beyond their comprehension, then they are just occupying valuable shelf space for my favorite e-retailers..... edit: i gave thenm the benefit...

so, which one is better, and why? the bbi? or 21st century? i have noticed that the 2 have very different paint schemes......how are the details? pluses, minuses on each?

was at michels today (with the family) and they have a 1/48th scale f106 kit....it was only 20 bucks.....gonna have to go back later and get it. the wife would have had choice words for me if i tried to purchase it now!

got "the call" from the wife today......THERE'S ANOTHER BIG BOX AT THE DOOR! UGH!!! NO MORE!!!
this is when i informed her that there are 2 more packages coming this week.......one for my son, and one (1 18 p-51 "killer") for a birthday present for my brother. that got me a bit of a reprieve.....:D
