Re: HM Dauntless plunge

i have made most all of my HM purchases from aikensairplanes.com
i have also made a purchase or 2 from flyingmule.com. aikens will also throw in a piece of candoy or 2 (sally, send only chocolate!) to placate the wife when the big box shows up!

Right Stuff-the movie

was watching this classic the other day and had to sit down and watch the Yeager scene- flying the f-104 to 104K ft. in the background in the hangar when he is bumming a stick of Beamons (sp?) gum from Crossfield, i saw the f-86, then in the background of the f-104 i saw the f-102 taxiing......then ...

Re: 1/18 Sell Off, People Leaving Hobby/Scale

I have about 21 birds and I have always considered selling them off. The thing that holds me back are the kids. I went to my sons fifth grade class and took a few with me......next thing I know they ask me to come back and speak to the entire fifth grade. I lined up about 12 of these birds at the e...

Re: Hobby Master F-100

I recently purchased the Comstock F-100 and it a a very impressive model. HM does quality work. the Hun is my 2nd favorite, right behind my Thud ( memphis belle II ). I was leaning towards getting a SEA camo painted Hun, but am very happy with the aluminum version. you won't be dissapointed.

Re: HM 1/72 scale observation

i ordered a Century A-6 a while back- what a POS that thing is. :?: :?: :?: That is the very first time that I have heard that. I have many CW models, and have three A-6's. I think that they are great, and come with great weapons loadouts. Proper CW quality in am important USN aircraft. Why...

Re: HM 1/72 scale observation

How is the F-100 model? I really want to get a couple of those. Love the look of the Super Sabre. I was first inclined to get a SEA camo f-100 but went the Comstock route instead (ordered thru aikens-they are great to work with). very happy with it. HM also includes 3 pitot tube variants, and a cou...

HM 1/72 scale observation

my 3 newest HM models were delivered this week. -100, -104, and 105. wow. was the 104 really that slender and small compared to the 105, or was there a scale error made? the 104 is 'pussy cat' and the 105 is memphis belle II. the Hun is the Comstock variant. i am really impressed with the hun.

little birdy told me....HM F106

Sent a "cold call" to HM via their website yesterday and had a rather enjoyable exchange with one of their PR people. long/short of it: F106 won't be pushed out 'til 3rd or 4th Quarter of 2011....and it might be n the 48th FIS scheme.....below is the email exchange.....bottom is the start.... ------...

*sigh* i stopped scratching at the b-17 itch a while ago.......still dreaming a b-17g though..... No, no, no...avoid a G-itch by all means possible. They cause nasty festering pustules that ooze when scratched and are easily infected by the B-24 virus while the sores are open. @#@$$@$%$ you, you %#...

I have my f104 'george sitting out displayed on the landing gear and decided to try and use the stand with the -104. it works great! i was able to make some more space on my shelf. Pizz...

Re: Do you remember?

Do you remember opening your first diecast model? I'm sorry, but I'm new to this hobby and just opened my HM 1:48 P-26 Peashooter and F3F-3 Flying Barrel. I can't get over the detail and paint jobs. I thought they would be like Matchbox cars but I'm loving the quality. Just don't turn them over or ...
