Very funny, Don!
I wish I could get a job good enough to where I could make a bad decision and cost the Man $500K!

Does anybody have any idea on the marketing demographics? I have no idea, but will add not to sell the suits short. You can bet the manufacturers have all this information at their fingertips and use it on a daily basis. There is a general view that the decision makers don't know what the hell they...

The bbi Corsair is a great example of how the "board" and the "market as a whole" can go in opposite directions. When the bbi Corsair was announced, it didn't generate a lot of excitement here. 21st had the Corsair covered and everyone here had theirs. A few board members purchased the bbi F4U anywa...

Don: I think things are a little more conservative than we would like. However, I thought the F-104 decision was a pretty ballsy move. Here is an airplane that was tough on pilots and of little military significance (from a battle standpoint, at least) yet 21st made it. Pretty risky IMO but they are...

BTW, with manufacturers monitoring this board, probably the most powerful way to may a suggestion is to state something like: I would like to see an ______ (F15 for example). If they made this, I'd buy one (or two or ?). ----- This would almost certainly be more effective than: I WANT A ZERO! I'M ON...

That's fine if everyone is satisfied with the Golden Dragon Scheme. Clear 'em out and move on to something else. Forget about anymore F-18s. But I think I'd like a Red Devil, now it may not happen. Hopefully, this latest "sale" was short-lived, didn't ruin the market, and the powers that be may stil...

Yeah, but if a $40 dump ruins any future development of a plane then its a little shortsighted to proclaim a consumer victory. I'm sure $40 is way below wholesale--these planes cost the retailers more than this. I love a good deal as much as the next guy but prefer to see more versions of everything...

NTSB
I'm taking a macabre NTSB look at the source photos mentioned at the top of the thread. It looks like a bullet hole in the top of the rudder on AI-154. Anybody else see any hit marks? I'm very curious as to what exactly knocked this bird out of the sky.

I agree Der
I envision a young, fixated IJN pilot focused intensely on raking a row of airplanes at Hickam, unaware of the aircraft at his six. Diving from altitude, vapor trails streaking from each wing tip in the humid Hawaiian air is the P-40B of Ken Taylor. With meatballs bracking his gunsight he pulls the ...
