BBI Replacement F18 Pilots
OK, so is there a "trick" to fitting these guys in the JSI F14? Besides removing the lower legs (like I did with the Corsair pilots going in the Mertit Dauntless)...

Re: Aviatonut Interview with Tony at Merit on Future of 1:18
Great job, Aviatornut, Merit seems to really be serious in their efforts to produce 1/18th scale...The new Dauntlesses are among the best ever, with super detailed cockpits, fantastic paint...I could go on...
Thanks to Merit for helping bring back 1/18th scale...

Just picked up my Midway Dauntless at Aikens...They just arrived today...I was there to pick up my new BBI F18, and up rolls the UPS truck with the Dauntless'.
Two, new, 1/18th scale aircraft in one day! Never thought that would happen again.
Thanks, Sally & Dave!

Going to post an interview with Tony the owner of Merit the person (behind the F14 and Dauntless) sometime next week on Facebook, which will be discussing the future of 1/18 and where he sees it going. Please join in on the discussion. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.187641635289.267893.7...

yeah that's blunt, Snake. Bottom line here is I guess: everyone's entitled to their opinion, whether others like it or not. As long as it's not inflammatory, racist, sexist, yadda, yadda. If you don't like it you can disagree with it or simply ignore. We've had others on here before making wi...

Super nice paint...I know everyone seems to be clamoring for the next Merit "Midway" Duntless, but as far as paint schemes go, the early war "Coral Sea" version is much more dramatic looking!

Re: A realistic option for merit
Just thinking out loud here, so humor me…Merit released their 1:24 scale pre built P-51 and BF 109, based on a pre-existing model kit, The 1:16 Tiger I and T-34 are based on previously released RC tanks from Trumpeter, The 1:350 Hornet is based on the Trumpeter model kit, and the fantastic SBD Daun...

Re: IS ALL-GO Dead?
Merit & BBI seem to represent the present, and hopefully the future, for 1/32 & 1/18 plastic aircraft models.
All-Go would make an excellent business school "model" on how NOT to start up a new business venture (NO offense, Zack, I know you're not a part of their poor decision making process!)

Re: Merit USS Hornet CV-8 Midway
that's a really nice display. Why is there a heinkel 111 on the right, though? does the lower hull detach, so that you can make a waterline display? Wow, hoped no one would notice the Heinkel! Should have known :D , but my naval carrier books didn't fit in that spot! As far as I know the hull doesn...

Looks really neat displayed with the crew pix. Do you have to damage the box in order to remove it? Are the planes packaged seperately? Yes, the box no longer exists...The only boxes I keep anymore, anyway, are the Franklin Mint & Corgi ones. The planes were packed in two groups of 6 and one group ...

I've got the original "Special Edition" F14 (now in "Grim Reapers" scheme)...I am pretty sure it takes 2 or 3 AA batteries...I would take mine apart to check, but it takes a little effort and everything is so fragile... On mine, you sometimes have to "jiggle" the switch a bit to get the lights on, b...
