Sorry, but we didn't talk about the A-10 at all. The price point that Jason mentioned was around $40, but I'll go with what the website says. I would guess they'll be in the same price range as the 21C and BBI stuff.

New company getting into the 1:18 game, new F-86 Sabre pics

I was at the Wings Over Houston Airshow today and as I was looking through the vendors I came across someone selling alot of 1:18 scale planes, both BBI and 21st. They had this sitting on display: <a href="http://img308.imageshack.us/my.php?image=airshowhouston2005and118f86sab.jpg" target="_blank"><...

I have used several lines when asked. One was "These were the toys I always wanted when I was a kid, and now they finally make them". Another reply is"I collect military stuff". Sometimes, I just buy my items as quickly as possible and try not to make eye contact because you can just tell when peopl...

Gunther Rall 109G & F-104G Marine at Badcat now

Just thought I would give everybody who hasn't been to Badcat recently a heads up. They have a new preorder up for the Gunther Rall 109G, the silver F-104C and the German Marine F-104G. Says they are due in late October and that they are on the water now. I put in my preoder for the 109G and the F-1...

Yes, due to WM's spotty distribution, it does make it difficult to keep track of what has gone to WM and what hasn't. Do you know when the 82nd Airborne figs were originally released and how many different guys were available? I didn't start collecting the figures until this year so I am kind of fuz...

That list looks pretty good, Tman. I just wanted to clarify that I bought both of my Command Cars at WM and got the Airborne figs with one and the Patton, dog, and driver with the other. I bought them about a month apart. I also bought the both of my Hanomag halftracks at WM, one the green-yellow co...

WC57 Command Car figures

I bought a Comand Car a few weeks ago and it came with a BOB driver and BOB Patton figure. I was at WM last night and found another Command Car but this one had two 82nd Airborne figures instead. Anybody else seeing this? I remember someone mentioning that the Hummer came with two different sets of ...

I did some custom decals of my own by scanning a set of 1/48 scale decals, then enlarging them, and then printing them on Testors white decal paper. The results aren't quite as sharp as the factory paint, but it is a good, cheap way to do a set of custom markings http://img146.echo.cx/my.php?image=x...

I really have no problem with repaints. I understand why they make them and it works on me. I usually buy at least two different paint jobs for planes, sometimes more if I really like the plane or the markings. I just don't want to see this continuing trend of making another P-51D or Corsair with ne...

New subjects vs. Improved remakes.

Do we need to have the same subjects redone over and over just so that the level of detail can be increased or should BBI and 21C be spending more time and effort on creating new subjects that haven't been done yet. I wonder about this since we now have two Corsairs and will soon have 3 different Mu...

I know it probably won't happen, but if there was a Vietnam XD aircraft line with the F-4, F-105, F-100, A-4, A-6, and F-8 I'm sure I would pick up at least one of each type. Be nice to get a Mig 17, 19, or 21 to go along with the US planes.

The only problem I have with my Spitfire is that the landing gear doesn't like to stay retracted. The tabs that are supposed to hold it in seem to be a bit too small. I don't know if anybody else has this problem. Otherwise, the plane is pretty nice.

Just got back from doing some recon and I found the COED Sherman, olive drab M41 Walker with new figure, and both the new US and German Halftracks. No figures in 1/18th though. I also found 5 different 32X playsets and both the German series 5 and British series 2 32x troop sets.

According to my info, the P-51H was the production version of the lightweight experimental Mustangs. They were 40 percent lighter than the D model, had taller dorsal tail, stretched fuselage, redesigned canopy and radiator inlet, and was the fastest production version at 487mph. Cool photos. I didn'...
