UM... The P-38 is REALLY small compared to the mass and wing span of the AVENGER. Consider yourselves WARNED!!!! It's gonna be cool. The Avenger should only be marginally larger than the P-38 in terms of overall length and wingspan. Though Avenger's "girth" and height will be considerably lar...

I think it's a matter of preference. At some point or another, I've had two examples of each version - Checkerboard, Blond Angel, Eagleston and Eileen (which was sold). My personal favorite is The Blond Angel. I love the bare metal look, the D-Day stripes and the wonderful nose art. Yes, as has been...

It's still not on any online retailers' websites that I've seen. Ebay's the only place. Luckily the price on those is coming down. A couple months ago, they were selling for over $100 sometimes. It seems they're down to the $60s now. As an aside, I wouldn't pay more than regular retail price for one...

I'm pretty new to the hobby, so I guess it seems normal to not have new stuff out all the time. I can't imagine new stuff monthly. And I don't think my account could handle it.

I was thinking that with the 104 being made, it makes sense to do something with '60s NASA aircraft as well as the spacecraft. I think an X-1 and especially an X-15 would be fantastic as 1:18 scale reproductions. That whole period of aviation development was astounding. And it seems to get people's ...

Spacecraft...

Anybody else think that 1:18 scale models/toys of historic spacecraft would be a good idea? I've seen somewhat large scale toy versions of the Apollo capsule, but nothing with the realism of the aircraft produced by 21st Century or BBI. Given that 21st is expanding into a new era with the 104, it se...

Nice interview, p51!

It was good gettin' the lowdown on some new things. Things look VERY good in the future. If you haven't read it, check it out at http://21stcenturytoys.com/area21/artic ... ?newsID=41

But what did the "old Fan Club exclusive 1:18 Me-109" look like? Anyone have pics?

Wish List

I'm curious to know what kind of 1:18 scale aircraft collectors would like to see produced. Try and keep it reasonable, as in something that there's a legitimate shot at actually being done. I'm sure a lot of us would like to see a 1:18 B-17 or B-25 (maybe sold in sections, lol), but that probably a...

My P-51 "Big Beautiful Doll" would be gone in a heartbeat. It's just not up to par with the rest of XD. And if I had paid over $100 for the 109 Nightfighter, like I've seen other fools do on eBay, rather than the normal retail price (thank you, Mr. McClain), I'd want that $100 back. It's cool, but n...

XD P-51 "Big Beautiful Doll" for trade (UPDATED)

I have an XD P-51 "Big Beautiful Doll" and a FW 190-D Dortenmann (Black 1) available for trades. Two planes I'm looking for are the Spitfire "ZPA" and the RAF P-40. The P-51 is in mint condition with pilot, pilot's gun and figure stand, however I didn't have the foresight to save the original box. T...

New here.

Just wanted to say hello. I got into collecting 21st Century XD planes just after Christmas when I was given a gift card from Wal Mart. Used it for a Kepford Corsair and a Galland 109, with the reasoning, "I wish they had these when I was a kid." Since then, I've gotten 12 more planes. Very addictiv...
