Maybe I've missed it, but I've been looking and haven't seen quality 1:18 US desert figures -- just regular grunt types, not super-duper spec-ops.

Any pointers?

I'm sure it's been done here before, but I'd be VERY curious to see discussion of actual numbers in terms of development and production costs for typical 1:18 products.

Having finally snagged a P-38 on eBay, I should be satisfied. Naturally, I'm not. I got the California Cutie, which is OD. A number of the bare metal birds are coming up today. Is there some major distinction among them in terms of quality, rarity, etc.?

Has anyone ever considered doing a V-1 launcher using the Pegasus model? There are lots of reference photos at the bottom of this page:

One specific plane I'm lusting after is the P-38. It looks like etailer prices are in the neighborhood of $200 I personally would never pay that much for one, and if you are patient and keep a sharp eye out at ebay I believe you can get one for considerably less than that.
