I wouldn't mind another F-104. There are some really nice paint schemes that the Starfighter wore during its career. It's career of not shooting anything down (at least in the USAF) and generally killing pilots. It was a head scratcher when 21st did it and just as pointless with JSI, especially the...

I sure would like to know what accounts for the pattern of what they offer. For the things that only go up briefly, I'm thinking they must be selling from private collections.

Do they actually have them? Their site is still calling it a "pre-order."

I spotted that the other day in my ceaseless prowling of eBay for 1:18 militaria. I wondered how long it would take before the knives came out here over it!

It did make me wonder how hard it would be to scratch build a Kate. We have a few folks here who could do it ...

A while back there was a discussion about pre-paid orders financing new products. I still think that's an opportunity that hasn't been tried, and it seems to have more positive than negative points. A manufacturer would say 'we are thinking about making X model. We have been working on plans and ha...

I saw a comment on the board here somewhere that the BBI F-16 was somehow off-scale. Is that true? If so, by how much and in what direction -- too big, or too small?

Question: Anyone know why some items come and go and others stay and stay on MD? The Pak 40s, Me-262 night fighters, F-104(s) etc. have been there for months. But other things will show up and then go away and then come back. Obviously some things, like the P-38s they've had from time to time are ju...

I have a question. I've been building models all my life -- five decades. The hobby's come and gone for me and I've gone through different passions -- (then) modern planes, cars, WWII planes, spacecraft, R/C sailplanes, cars again ... went through a 1:18 die cast car phase. Now this. All through tha...

It'll happen when it happens, is what I think. If someone has a few hundred thousand dollars lying around to finance the production, it might happen quicker.

In the meantime, just the idea of it is pretty damned cool.

Funny, America isn't the only market out there, and i bet the Flanker outsells the F-15 and F-14 in the Chinese domestic market. I've spent quite a bit of time in China in the last few years and I'd be willing to bet that the Flanker will sell like hot cakes ... erhh, dim sum ... in China. Don't be...

Great work! I picked up 3 diecast '36 Ford trucks for a song on eBay a couple of weeks ago. I took the first apart and started painting it tonight as a test to create some period-correct WWII airfield equipment.

I'm a complete newbie, and I shouldn't even be entitled to an opinion, so naturally I'll express one. From what I've read these last couple of months, it looks like the late 90s through this last year or so saw the birth and near-death of a market for good quality 1/18 finished models that happened ...

With the F-16 and F-18 going for $300-$600 on eBay, I don't think JSI will feel compelled to spend a lot of money on including the pilots in the original package. I'd be willing to bet they're going to sell them separately, if at all.

It will be very interesting to see if even the possibility that these products lie in the future might begin to have a depressing effect on eBay prices. Huey's have been going for $150 at least and some for well over $200, for instance.

... we can only hope ...
