In regard to the Panther v T-34 controversy I would agree that The Panther was both slightly based on the T-34 (it was proposed that the new German tank be in fact a copy) but it was in fact a quite superior weapon. It provided more room for the crew, relieving battle fatigue somewhat, had a crew of...

There were two in fact. The M22 Locust was built by the US for the British, but I'm not sure if it saw combat. The other was the Light Tank Mk VII or "Tetrarch". and could fit in a modified glider to support the airborne troops. As you can imagine neither should show up on this list. :D Now that I ...

No, they can't. But they can transport the crew and all the supplies one would need to go into action. They might even have been able to transport a Sherman in pieces, to be reassembled at the destination. I do not think that there was an air transport built at that time capable of transporting a Sh...

Can the landing gear be re-engineered to go back up? I have had some luck with Corgi in doing that. I've thought about doing that myself. If you could get all the parts off without cracking anything then it should be possible with some aircraft. Depends on the gear type I would imagine. It requires...

It wasn't the T-34. It was the numbers of the T-34. agreed! but the tank was better suited for Russian terrain than the German Panzers. but point taken The early German tanks, through the PzIV, had narrow tracks which really only worked where the ground tended to stay relatively hard. The Tiger had...

And I would throw the C-47 in as a "best" plane, too. It transported men, equipment and supplies all over the world, (like the Sherman) served in every Allied army and it is the one plane that if it didn't exist it would have had to be invented.

a) The p-38. It was so good that after the war the USAF destroyed them rather than have them show up in some enemy's inventory. b) The Panther. Once the reliability problems were solved it was simply the best around. Could kill whatever it could catch, which was every other tank on the field. Relati...

I remember when Dragon first came out with this series the stated purpose was to provide die-cast at affordable prices. The Tigers had cast turrets and plastic bodies, then the Panther with plastic turrets and cast hulls. BUT the price was $10.00! That was good. Now they are all plastic, and the pri...

21C makes toys and has/had no pretensions otherwise. FoV claims that it makes miniature scale replicas, and it does not. It makes very nice models that I consider to be in a class with most build-it kits.

Good. I accept that as an apology for referring to me as "weird." Thank you for your abject prostration. Subject closed. Problem solved. Now if 21C only made 21::1 scale giant models they'd be, clearly, too big to fail and would be receiving much, clearly, needed bail out money. Even if their entire...
