Armor Series 1:48 Stryker
I just picked this up in desert tan. The bottom of the box has an MTH label. MTH made O gauge trains and has just closed up shop. There was also a Bradley in dark green, but not the desert Humvee pictured on the side. It has a metal body. I haven't unboxed it yet. I looked online and saw it with dif...

New Dragon 1/144 Tanks are out
I saw these at M.Kleins in their show room in Timonium (or is it Cockeysville), Maryland. Some of them are two in a pack. They also have quite a bit of 1/72. Their website is www.modeltrainstuff.com. Looks like they are branching out, now that they have a larger store.

Glen Burnie, MD has Tigers and P IVs. Yesterday, Severna Park still had Elephants and Bradleys.

Re: the scale of corgi fighting machines miniatures
I disagree. The larger Corgi military stuff is 1/50. But the Corgi "Fighting Machines" miniatures are made "to fit the box", and vary from close to 1/72 to 1/100.

The ones I remember were the Tank Destroyer and the M47 which were the first 21st I saw, and they were at a WalMart.

Re: S5 sdkfz 222
Since at least three that I know of the first models offered were in blister packs, my guess is this one was a very early issue, not a late issue. That seller probably finally decided to give it up and did very well.

Probably
You would have to be talking painted plastic. Because there are plenty of unpainted plastic WWII soldiers available on the Internet, such as from "Toy Soldiers of San Diego" and relatively expensive painted metal, such as "Britains". But the painted plastic that have been available in the past have ...

I visited the site a couple of weeks ago and he had said he was closing up shop. He may have said that he would be selling off stuff through eBay.

Target and Macho Machines
Force of habit had me check the toy aisles at Target. Lo and behold, they had a clearance shelf full of the little FoV tanks. The grey Tiger, OD Shermans, tan Bradleys and Abrams for $1.50 each. I picked up the Tiger and Sherman. I think the Tiger's detail is very good, the Sherman OK. They are smal...

Whatever someone wants to pay
I sold the one I had several years ago for $80.00 when I decided that it was better to sell than to hold. But we collectors are funny about collecting series and filling in holes. If someone wants to buy it for that much, then they will. If not, they will just wait until the price comes down.

It is 1/35
It's not bad. The size matches an old Tamiya 1/35 kit I have. When I got it, I researched it on this forum and apparently it originally came with the long barrel like the one I have. Later ones had a shorter barrel. As far as I am concerned, it is a much better rendition than the New Ray Shermans.

Good looking stuff
The First Legion figures look very much like some of the high quality figures that have been done by Russian companies. I have a Civil War figure from Aero-Art that I paid $70.00 for in 2001. It is incredibly well done and I don't regret spending that much. According to their web-site, First Legion ...

Two Colors
As far as I know, there were two colors, but no sand camo. One was a dark green, the other was a lighter green. I think the light one was in a bubble pack, but I don't remember now. I got the dark green Olive Drab, and I remember that that was the most common one.

Surprise at WM
In the Glen Burnie, MD WalMart, there were four of the Japanese newer fighters (not Zeroes) on Clearance at $4.99. But they still had two of the Italy Sherman play sets, two of the large howitzer playsets, two of the howitzers by themselves and a Long Tom, but those were all at regular prices.

Walmart hidden markdowns
If you are lucky enough to find a WM with 21st stuff, scan the price. I just got some that were marked down but not on the shelf sticker. Luckily there was a self scanner close by. The $14.94 items were at $9.00.

I wouldn't say you missed it. I still see the sets at WM and TRU.

Over a year since they came out
Here in Maryland I just found a Russian soldier set at a TRU today. I had seen them at a show over a year ago. Then I went to a WalMart that is right next to the TRU and found a "Heavy Artillery Emplacement II" set which I had been looking for for months.

Comparison
In my opinion, having combined the two scales, it only looks good in a diorama that can be viewed from only one angle. The smaller Tamiya soldiers and guns can be placed at the rear, giving somewhat of a "forced perspective". But when mixed in with the 21st Century stuff, the differences are very no...

c44 - Yes that is the set. Notice it also carries the same title. So even if they do show up, a quick glance might make you miss it.

Not the same
I picked the set up several weeks ago and it has different figures. Fo instance the radio figure is kneeling. Also the other figures are not crouching or carrying, they are upright.
