It seems very strange to me that 21st hasn't taken advantage of their excellent 1:18 chassis and hulls to create variations. A few I'd like to see: Jagdpanzer IV Stug IV Brumbar Nashorn Wirbelwind Mobelwagen Jagdpanther Sturmtiger But if they would produce a Pz III, Opel Blitz and Sd Kfgz 7, my life...

Scale is very important to me. I will not mix 1:16 and 1:18 or 1:32 and 1:35. And if I find something is not scale, I ditch it. I guess I'm weird. :P

D-Day Sherman Wading Vents

At the instigation of grunt1 I had a try at making the wading vents for a D-Day Sherman. I'm going to send them to him for revision and possibly to get some scale drawings. If anybody has any good detail photos, dimensions, or drawings, please let one of us know. Whatever we come up with will be mad...

The two tools I use most in my scratchbuilding are a drill press and a combo belt/disk sander. You can frequently find both at Sears for under $100 when on sale. I do have a wood lathe I have used for 1/6th barrels, but nothing in 1:18 so far. I can tell you that the famous 1/6th modeler known as th...

I swore off 1:18 planes because of space limitations. But a B-25? Oh, hell yes!

Has anybody mentioned that the wingspan of a 1:18 B-25 is about 45 inches? Almost four feet!

I want to stress that these are not copies of the 21st Euro IV skirts. There were at least three different styles used on Pz IVs and derivatives. My version is taken from drawings and photographs and are slightly different from the 21st version.

1:18 Panther disassembly?

In order to get the turret off, apparently you need to remove the hull top from the hull base. But this is screwed on and the screws appear to be on top of the road wheels. If I am right, how do you get the wheels off? Thanks.

OK, I got about ten expressing interest, so I sent the master barrel off to an expert to make the mold for it. I have made the molds for the resin gun parts, and the superstructure will be 1/8" styrene. So far, everything looks good, but there will be a lot of detail work remaining.
