Re: HALO Warthog

McFarlane figures have always been a bit on the pricey side - I also have several of their dragon and Predator figures, and they always have averaged about $10-12 for standard figures, up to about $25 for boxed figures and more for larger scale. In addition, the McFarlane figures tend to be a bit on...

Re: HALO Warthog

That surprises me about the 2-packs being so high - around here, WM has them for $20, and Target for $22. As far as single figures, between $11 and 13 seems to be the standard, although I picked up a couple on sale at Meijer for $10 a couple weeks ago.

Re: HALO Warthog

Not sure about the Joyride version, but it appears to be closer to 1/32. My sister is a huge Halo fan and has pulled me into it now, too, so we have the Action Clix version (about 1/72), the RC version (also close to 1/32, I would guess), and the McFarlane version, which is definitely large for 1/18...

Re: Sky Works A-10

Wow... I go away for a little while and the whole look and everything changes! While I have more or less stepped away from the 1/18th world and have been spending a lot of time on 2 wheels, the A-10 is one piece that I would still add to the collection. So I am watching developments on this one - it...

Nice to hear from you again, Jason. As some here have noticed, I have also been pretty absent from the forum the past several months as I focus on other (2-wheeled) pursuits. With winter grabbing hold here in the midwest, that may change - we'll see. I definitely look forward to catching up again so...

I know it's been a while since I have posted here on SSHQ (spending all my free time on the motorcycle, and with very little of interest to me showing up in the 1/18th world...), but I don't think it's time to rule Admiral out completely. I do know that they were working on several non-toy projects ...

I have 3 larger hooks in one room in a triangle shape, with a FW-190, Me-109, and a P-47 hanging from a piece of heavy fishline along one side of the triangle, and 2 F-86's and a Mig-15 hanging from another side. The third side is plane free. Each plane is suspended from the heavier line using two p...

I believe my debit card says "Visa". So I am going with Visa, tied to cold cash.
It just means resisting the urge to buy more bike accessories for a month or two. Of course, if the releases are staggered out as much as I expect, I don't see a problem, anyway.

While it may not have all intricate details and moving features that later models had, I would have to second PH's vote on the Haleakala II P-38. The paint scheme was excellent, weathering was great, and the plane has a presence that grabs attention when someone walks into the room, more than any ot...

Or simply the fact that they are realizing that most people aren't that crazy and things simply aren't moving.
I can understand trying to cash in on hard to find items, but in the end, it's only as valuable as someone's wallet says it is.

I purchased a couple 1/6 items through them a couple years ago and had no problems. However, they don't seem to be particularly gifted at the art of website maintenance (nor do they have the slightest grasp of the English language, but that's another issue). All I can say is don't hold your breath i...

I wouldn't go as far as to say that - it DOES have tracks on it. Beyond that, however... It just looks really really horsey (a term I usually reserve for really bad document layouts, but it fits here, too).

It is supposed to be that way. The silver paint is intended as weathering/wear from where paint would be chipped or flaked off on an actual plane. If you look at aircraft like the Haleakala P-38 or many of the Stukas, you will see the same weathering, such as on wing surfaces where the crew might wa...
