Re: Normandy Is Locked Out Of the Forum
I just looked into it, he's fully activated. I thought I'd reactivated his account, and I was right. Not sure what the issue is now.

Do you know who ran them? I vaguely remember that, but it wasn't something I hosted.

Re: New 1/18 Jeep
Great detail for sure, I have a US Navy version that's exactly the same detail wise. But the markings on those ones in that link are... odd to say the least.

Re: Area-21 news
Hey hey Zach! Great to see you pop in! This forum has been pretty steady with posts. It's slowed down from the good ole hay days (I miss it as well!), but as others have mentioned, there's still a lot of interest. We still have some people who do amazing custom work on the 1/18 items, and scratched ...

Re: What does the wife really think about 18th ?
1-1 are space killers and tolerant as my wife was, there's no way I could have military mannequins in the living room and dinning room or army Air Corps shirts hanging down the hall. I had one room upstairs, the basement and garage for my stuff. When we moved into our current house, it was actually...

Re: What does the wife really think about 18th ?
I'm very lucky with my girlfriend (of 8+ years now). She's 'tolerant' of my passions, even though she's very much a polar opposite of me when it comes to collecting. She's very minimalist and clean, not someone who would collect a million things, haha! My interests range from a lot of things... I ha...

Re: TESTING, 1,2,3 - WE ARE BACK!
The previous design was made back in 2004 or earlier when web responsive designs weren't a thing... so it was set to a fixed size for smaller monitors at 800x600 size. This new theme, and the new forum software, will resize itself based on your monitor size. So it should fill the entire monitor now.

Re: TESTING, 1,2,3 - WE ARE BACK!
Yeah, that was an ooooooooooooooold version of phpBB. I would update it every now and then, but it took a bit of work to keep that theme alive. This brings us into the latest version, which seems faster and really looks nice on mobile. The previous theme had no clue what responsive device formatting...

Re: TESTING, 1,2,3 - WE ARE BACK!
Looks like everyone might have to reinstall their avatars, only major issue I'm seeing so far. It shows up in the user panel, but you have to download your avatar, then reupload it.

Re: TESTING, 1,2,3 - WE ARE BACK!
I just test-changed it to a new theme I quickly found. Didn't think it would be this quick to get a new theme added! It's still basic, but it's 'closer'.

Re: TESTING, 1,2,3 - WE ARE BACK!
Lots of great new features, especially the responsive formatting for mobile devices. We jumped a LOT of updates, and sadly that broke the old theme and I can't migrate that over. So I'll be either making a custom theme or finding a theme that is similar and just modifying it. Until now, enjoy the bo...

What's going on with the forum? Nov 2019
Since I'm removing the yellow information bar from the top, I figured I'd edit this post for those who pop on here occasionally. So, on November 4th, I was forced to upgrade the php on this server. Sadly, the new version of php didn't play nice with the forum software, which is phpBB. That caused th...

I've seen an increase in traffic to the site... not sure if it's DDOS attacks or, for some reason, people are being linked here. I'll look into it.

ME-109 at about the same price (different seller) : https://www.ebay.com/i/333260280802
Man, at these prices I'll be able to retire once I sell the massive collection I have in storage all still in their original boxes!

That's one of the many tells. I think they should have just put 1945 Willys Jeep for it.Axis Nightmare wrote:I'm by no means an expert on Jeeps, but I always thought the 1941 was the "slatgrill" like the GI Joe 1/6 scale Jeep.

Re: Anyone ever get the Welly diecast 1/18 scale Jeep?
Interesting... so it's a 1941 Jeep? It's got some nice details, but it's quite the mishmash of Jeeps throughout the years. Not to be one of those guys who nitpick everything, it looks more like a Late 1944-1945 Jeep based on certain things on the dash and in the engine. that being said, I've had sev...

Re: Johnny Lightning Greatest Generation
Any photos of the Navy one? I just acquired a 1/1 scale (ha ha) 1944 GPW Jeep that was formerly a Navy jeep in WW2. It's currently in Army colors (I'm keeping it Army) but would love to have a Navy Jeep to show what it might have looked like during WW2.
