Re: BBI announces f-18c
Everyone loves capitalism, until it's their time to buy something, then they become socialists, raising their fists against these money-hungry companies, and their evil profits. :) Supply vs Demand folks. Since BBI knows that people are willing to pony up $200+ for this model...so why shouldn't they...

Here's a quick way to have a "saggy" look on those tracks. here's what you need: Sewing needle Longnose pliers Black or dark brown thread Flip your tank over, and judge where approximately you want the track to rest on the roadwheels. Then, simply use your sewing needle and thread to tie down the tr...

Re: Merit USS Hornet CV-8 Midway
I hope so. I would like to clarify that if you are a modeler, the problems I stated can be rectified. Mine came with a broken mast, even though the box is near mint, and has no damage whatsoever. Thankfully, I have spares from when I built the Trumpeter kit into a late '42 USS Enterprise. To be hone...

Re: admiral nominee shot down RF-4C Phantom
After reading the entire article, I'm not exactly sure how is he totally 100% to blame for the incident. His F-14 was loaded with live ordnance, which was an apparently violation of the war games. But he wasn't the one that installed those missiles, or even the person who ordered those missiles inst...

Re: Merit USS Hornet CV-8 Midway
Bought one a couple of weeks ago. I got the Doolittle version. Just as I thought, it's just a built and painted version of the Trumpeter 1/350 USS Hornet kit. which means that it's EXTREMELY FRAGILE. The paint job is pretty good, but the dark wash is pretty sloppy. Colors are not 100% accurate, but ...

FS: 1/16 Tamiya/Mato Custom King Tiger
Getting out of the large scale hobby. I want to sell this formerly 1/16 RC tank, now just a static display model. It's modeled after Tiger 131 of the S.Pz.Abt. 503 in Budapest, 1944. It has working tracks, suspension, etc etc. Came upgraded with PE detailed parts, metal tow cables, etc etc. http://i...

If you can find one for a decent price, I'd suggest get one. It's actually a very good and historically accurate mold, considering it's one of the first vehicles that 21st produced.

The original 21st Sherman was an M4, not an M4A4. The FOV version, I'm not sure since I've never purchased one.

You mean there isn't anyone here on this board with a problem? I did mention a competitor in my post, that would be Pickel. Bullying in this case is crap posted by people with no involvement in the matter which is going on here. Nev This hobby is fairly small, so when someone screw someone royally,...

Re: Skyworks....important information
Internet 'bullying' seems to be a valid point. What I see here is a whole bunch of people who have not had a problem themselves with Skyworks, (except for a competitor),sticking the knife in. Lets hear from some of those supposed many customers who were ripped off and maybe this thread would have s...

Re: Skyworks....important information
I purchased both VF-84 and VF-154 pilots from Skyworks, along with two sets of F-14 metal main landing gear legs and replacement cans. I thought the work was impeccable. The owner seemed to be one of those grouchy, quirky, creative genius types when I spoke to him on several occasions but he was al...

All-go toys. New name, same ol' 21st Century Toys. These are the same guys that ran 21st to the ground. They just have a new name. It's still dear ol' 21st with their half-truths, whines, and intimidation tactics. PS: If you hate China so much, how about bringing the manufacturing jobs *here*? IMHO,...

Re: 1/18 Scale Tiger II by Chritmas ? It's Up to you guys.
You do great customs, pickel. But I'd want to caution you about making a 1/18th King Tiger. The 1/16th market is saturated with King Tiger models. From cheap but good quality Heng Longs, to expensive Tamiyas. There's even a King Tiger kit made by Trumpeter that's super-detailed, and has full interio...

Re: The new 1/16 BBI F-16C, who already get it ?
It never really bothered me that the BBI F-16 was a bit overscaled. 21st figures are similarly overscaled (closer to 1/16 that 1/18), yet no one really complains about it.

Re: Got tired of waiting for die-cast companies
Thanks guys. Another reason I took up modeling is economics. I just got tired of paying $90-$150 or more for a diecast model with less detail on them, when I could build a better model with my sub-average skills for a quarter of the cost. Also, here's my 1/350 Yamato. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/...

Got tired of waiting for die-cast companies
So I decided to try my hands on 1/48 scale Aircraft model building. At a fraction of a cost, I literally have an unlimited amount of subject to choose from, even subjects that you'd never see done by a die-cast company in 1/48 scale or larger. Like this old 1/48 Monogram B-29A (Work in progress) htt...

Re: Rubber Tires On Model Aircraft
The main problem with those "rubber" tires is they're not actually rubber, but PVC soft vinyl. If they actually use rubber on those tires then the cost is gonna be more costly, with less detail at such a small scale. One way to prevent such cracking is to make sure that your model is far away from s...

Re: How to get Future off?
Soak the whole thing in water for an hour or so. It's water soluble. It's faster to remove it with windex, but if you want to preserve the paint underneath, water is the best removal tool for Future.
