Badcat, smalljoes, aviatornut, etc are all great sellers. Who's to know which seller would get their shipment first? As long as their shipments doesn't get delayed by a few weeks, I don't think it matters much if my Tomcat is a few days late, and others got theirs first. :)

The inside of German tank hatches are not off-white. You have several options, but not off-white. One is to paint the inside of the hatch with the base exterior color. Another is to paint it with the two interior colors that were used during the war. Elfenbein RAL 1001, which is kinda beige in color...

Maybe because the 1/24 RC tank hobby is also a fairly large niche? Judging from the fact that more and more tank models are being released in this scale, with better electronics, capabilities, etc. I would say that the 1/24 tanks eclipse 1/18 armor in terms of popularity. FOV is a company that's out...

My overall impression of the F-14: 1. It's big, but it wasn't as big as I thought it would be. I'm not saying it's underscaled, but after hearing all the talk about how a 1/18th F-14 would be so big...I was expecting something gigantic. Instead, it's sufficiently large, without being too cumbersome....

Just saw this thread. Maybe more detailed pics is needed? The lady at the booth was kind enough to elt me manhandle it a bit. The canopy won't stay open by itself, so i was holding it open with one hand, while taking pics with the other. I'm no F-14 expert, but the details in the canopy is amazing. ...

Re: Many ad hoc alterations

On the subject of AA guns being pulled by tanks or strange paint schemes: I always find it funny when the experts come out and declare that some reported instance of something never happened because they can't find it in some reference book or manual. Necessity is the mother of invention, and in wa...

The majority of human history is based on speculation! There is only a few thousand years of recorded history out of the thosands of years of human existance and everything else is speculation. Since we are speaking of WWII, where would the military have been without speculating about who was where...

that hard edged camo is really odd to me. Why waste time and effort making it hard edged? Adds nothing to the camouflage ability of it. If it were some sort of urban camo then i could see hard edged being an advantage, to blend in better with the corners of buildings and the straight edged shadows ...

 i've actually seen part of that video before but didn't realize the colours of the panthers. The straight lines are really wierd to me, although they look more soft edged than JSI's version. The colors were an educated guess by many based on German directives plus those videos and some other ...

There are photos of Panthers with a similar paint scheme but with much more tan and green and the lines are irregular. Captions say that a stencil was used by the crew to apply the paint, thus the straight edges. Aferg is correct about the lack of paint late in the war. At least thats what I have r...

Skyworks has been kicked around even before that because of the high prices of his models. The picklehaube/jack-thing just added a good excuse or reason to pile on him. The high price was one thing but screwing over some one on this board is another, lets not forget about the threats that Jack make...

Skyworks is the new ball of the playground. Because we like something else to kick around now that 21st is dead. No cause Jack screwed one of our own, that is why there is some hostilities towards him on this board... Jack has also not tired to make the situation better. I don't think skyworks will...

"But yeah, it's cool if you think it's possible that the Soviet tanks towed AA guns so when under air attack, they could stop their tank, dismount, set up the AA gun, fire from a static position while they are being bombed and gunned down by cannon fire from above. the main reason for the exaggerated claims of tiger kills at kursk was the similarity in appearance of the panzer iv and the tiger.....at a distance. So crews were shooting at panzer iv's thinking they were tigers. And there are always exaggerated kill claims in any battle. That's only natural. But...

Wow, this has taken on a life of its own. Due to the expendiancy of repairs made on the battlefield and the ingenuity of repair crews, I don't see how anyone can say this or that didn't actually happen. I personally, am not satisfied, to prove a point, looking at written records by the U.S. as to what what was supplied to Russia. If you look, you will see major differences between what we say we supplied Russia and Russian records as to what they received from us. We're not talking about a few dif...

Quad .50's were supplied to Russia. http://www.o5m6.de/m17.html The only question is whether quad .50's were towed on two wheeled trailers behind tanks. Now, I will dig around and find Russia...

And IMHO, it's fine to do a "what if" scenario. It's fine to do a "what if" vehicle. Without going into a religious debate here, the arguments I've read here seems similar to the arguments about the existence of God. Man 1: God exist! Man 2: Well, you can't prove that God doesn't exist either!! See ...

well, the Hs 129 pilot's reports were made right after the sortie, not years later, so hazy memories would not be an issue. But even then, eyewitness account can still be fairly inaccurate. That is why police and lawyers are leery about relying on eyewitness account alone to prove their case. Becau...

So what does the Soviet archives say about this topic? What do numerous Soviet tank crew veterans say about the plausibility that they have towed their own AA guns? If this really happened, I'm sure we have read about it, or heard about it from a Soviet veteran. They're quite proud of their T-34s. I...

He was a regular Wermacht soldier, wearing splinter Zeltbahn. You can clearly see what he was wearing right after the MG-42 nest assault, when he's pushed against the sandbags with his hands held up. His uniform didn't change. He's wearing the same thing when Opham (sp?) shot him at the end of the m...
