Re: 2010/2011

If JSI wants to continue there are a few things they will need to do: (1) Repair their reputation with collectors and retailers by publicly admitting a mistake was made with the F-14 and indicate a desire to do better in the future (I'm not holding my breath). (2) End their exclusive distribution ar...

Re: 2010/2011

BTW, if I were All-Go what I'd do is resurrect the 1:32 scale line. So many great tools there. Test the waters there with some more limited production runs and some new schemes. Try to keep something from most or all of their designs out at retail exposure. If that goes well, use some of the proceed...

Re: 2010/2011

From the retailer perspective I can say that 2010 has been a great year for clearing out a glut of excess product in all levels of the supply chain. The consumer has had an opportunity to get some good prices, many of which were close or equivalent to the best (internet) prices of a few years ago. A...

Re: consensus: which Abrams is better BBI or Bravo Team?

When the FoV version was released there was a long thread about this with pictures. Maybe it is still in the archive? I think the consensus in the end is that both were very similar, with each having a few minor improvements over the other. I decided to keep the BBI tan version and an olive drab FoV...

Re: Things are slow in the 1/18 market on retail and manufac

I agree there will always be action figures but I think the day of having options in different aircrafts or military vehicle are behind us. I was told all the old 21st century inventory that was sitting around in China is now gone. And with our only option of slow releases from JSI we do not have m...

Re: Things are slow in the 1/18 market on retail and manufac

If things continue in the trend that I am seeing, 1:18 is in very serious peril. By this time next year I think that demand for planes like the F-104 and MiG-15 will see sales in the 150 - 200 range. Why? because they aren't being made any more and I seriously doubt they ever will. What is made is ...

Re: Things are slow in the 1/18 market on retail and manufac

I have noticed a huge decrease in the 1/18 scale market and that is not just the manufacturing side but on the retail side also. For example I just listed 20 1/18 scale items and about 10 of the items closed on Monday. Out of those ten items 6 things sold. http://shop.ebay.com/aviatornut/m.html?_nk...

That's OK. In light of the email Merit sent out I knew it was inevitable that this would come up, only a matter of who would post first. :) I'm glad you brought it up as the issue needed to be addressed.

Re: JSI Germans

these must be the stolen ones :D Yes, I got that email from Merit as well. However, I can assure you that neither I or the distributor I purchased them from stole anything. Indeed, it is my understanding that JSI in fact knows full well the chain of custody of these and other items. I could specula...

Yep, these will be available at SMALLJOES in less than a week. I'm actually not sure what all figures are actually in the assortment but yes I do believe there is a blue tank commander.

Re: Time to Give up on the Admiral Toys Dauntless?

Surprised that you had to pay up front for a pre order, Tinman. Considering we haven't heard anything from AT for a long time now, I think that they are done.If there was any life left in them, I am sure that Jason would at least check in, just to keep the interest alive. I don't think it is fair t...

I agree with some of the above comments regarding the current economic conditions as being a major factor behind the recent sell-off - moreso than people getting fed up or tired of the hobby in general. Yes, I concur. I never understood the concept of leaving the hobby because new products weren't ...

In all seriousness, no matter where the product gets made, the company is still going to charge what they want for it retail. I emailed BBI inquiring about if or ever they would reproduce the F-16/18 and I got a e-mail back that said they were looking into producing more the first part of 2011. Is this believable? I was checking out Smalljoes, and noticed the Ourwar figures are no longer listed for preorder. Is smalljoes no longer going to carry the line. Is ebay going to be our best option for these? They don't have an A-10. They only had a hand-built prototype model. Not even sure they have that any more, as at some point it was put up for sale.

ALLGO, You have to adapt to the times. If you keep trying to do everything the same way you will get the same results. Listen to the collectors that buy the products. We want anything. If it's a kit we'll take it. Test my therory with the PW. Do it in a kit version. I think you will see a huge resp...
