Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm not happy with it yet, but I'm going to keep working at it until I get something that works.

PH I'm a ways away from needing a canopy vacuum formed right now. I do appreciate the offer though, and when I'm ready you'll be getting a PM from me.

Birdcage Corsair

As I'm sure some of you know I really like F4U corsairs, and I really have a thing for F4U-1 (birdcage) corsairs. I thought it wouldn't be too hard to make a canopy. Well that's what I get for thinking. After exploring different ways to make the canopy I finally decided that I wanted to resin cast i...

Thanks for the intel Aircobra. I think it looks great. I'm looking forward to more pics. How small of an area can you do? Can you mask off an area like you would with paint? E.g. could you do the frame on a cockpit canopy? I really like your idea of doing each panel individually, and changing the di...

Very nice work tko. The other thing you're missing is the reg numbers under the word Sabre. (Just bustin' your spheres). Your skills are top notch. You do know what gold paint is used for, don't you? It's the color of choice for paint huffers. That and little old ladies use it on flower pots. I thin...

I have a Blonde Angel, Checkertail, Donnie Boy, razorbacks and the Eagleston, and Eileen bubbletop jugs. I like the razorbacks best, I don't know why but they just look better to me.
I wish I had a Peg. It's a nice looking paint scheme. The other one I wish I had is Huckle De Buck.

tko in 1959 the GH had 50 years on the tail to celebrate 50 years of Canadian flight.

You'll notice that Hawk One, the plane Coreyeagle posted pics of has 100 years on the tail. It will be flying around Canada this year to celebrate 100 years of Canadian flight.

Sometimes it takes a while for the tracking info to come up. If BCA sent it, it's legit.
And if you're in CA sometimes the item shows up before the tracking info does.

I'm with tko on this. The high vis paint schemes are the shiznit.

I hope VF-84 high vis is the first, but I would love a VF-111 in high vis as well.

Yeah, I'm getting at least one. Probably two or three.

dragon53 my understanding is that Boyington flew many differant corsairs and that Lulubelle was just one of the f4u's the black sheep had in their inventory. You are correct in that no plane was assigned to any one pilot. I've even read that Boyington may have never flown that particular plane. Ther...

You know I don't really care as long as I can get a fair representation of a F-14 in 1/18 scale for a decent price.

Some of you guys want the moon for nothing, and then bitch that it costs too much or isn't perfect in every way.

Hopefuly JSI, bbi, and AT can come to a gentlemans agreement not to produce the same products.

IIRC Jason at AT had said that they had tried to do something like that awhile ago with 21st, and 21st wasn't interested in playing ball. Correct me if I'm wrong Jason.

The thing is that the hi-vis, especially VF-84 would sell much better than a low-vis version of any squadron imho. Skull and Bones sell, and that particular paint scheme appeals to many people. Truthfuly I think they would have to F it up pretty bad for the average buyer to notice. It is also kind o...

I think a hi-vis paint scheme, no matter the squadron, hanging from the ceiling of my airplane room would have a wow factor of eleven. I just don't think the low-vis schemes would have quite the same effect. Don't get me wrong any 1/18 F-14 is going to have a high wow factor, I just think a high-vis...
