Re: Customs by Fritzkrieg Update 12-14-2011

Fritz, I'm really missing all the WWII customs. I hope you're still churning out awesome customs, somewhere, and haven't called it quits.

I love that BBI LAV. I have two of them. I painted one black, and put some Cobra stickers on it. It's really one of my favorite pieces of 1/18 armor.

I bought myself some 1/18 diorama supplies, and several 21st D-Day paratroopers for customizing.

Re: Marauder Gun Runners oversized?

I don't think any of them are oversized. It seems that a few (specifically old releases) are kind of undersized, though. Plastic figures aren't flexible like real people, so many of the larger assault rifles don't fit in the hands/arms of action figures, just like they would in real life. People may...

Re: New BBI online store coming soon.

Seems that the majority of their buyers would come from North America (I could be totally wrong in assuming this). It would make so much more sense for them to establish a distributor here, as to save time and cost on shipping...but, if they're just starting out, maybe it's not financially sound to ...

New 1/18 BBI stuff would be awesome. Modern, WWII, whatever...I'll take what I can get. Though, it would be nice to finally see BBI's take on Germans.

Yeah, I think the last set was made in like 04, or something.

There are all kinds of these sets on eBay. I buy them frequently...a few sets at least once or twice a year. They've steadily gotten more expensive each year.

I know Aviatornut has some (or did), and probably Rez Collectables.

In my 11 years on eBay, I've always found that it's wise to avoid auctions without pictures. 11, 8, even 5 years ago, not everyone had cameras...but, most did. Now, just about everyone has a phone with a camera. If this guy can't take a quick pic...then, something is screwy. That, or he's just an id...

Dragon has, by far, the best gear/guns. I mean, the magazines on the MP40s come out. The rifles actually have detailed wood grain too.

Re: Best Brand Normandy Paratrooopers?

If you have a knack for placing figures in life-like poses, and do it well, you can make it so joints aren't noticeable, and begin to blend with the pose. Since all of the Dragon figures are in combat poses, it's almost impossible to use them for much else. I like to build dioramas that display all ...

Re: Best Brand Normandy Paratrooopers?

Yeah, the Dragon paratroopers are the best, but like all Dragon figures, they suffer from poor articulation. Really, all of their figures are the best. If they had articulation like the 21st guys, I'd sell blood to buy them.

Re: Best Brand Normandy Paratrooopers?

I buy both Dragon and 21st figures. I do this for Germans, and US troops of all kinds. I take the better parts (heads, hands, gear, weapons, sometimes even feet) from the Dragon stuff, and fit them to my 21st figures. This way, I get better poseability, and added detail, all in one. I even take the ...

All of the WMs, TRUs, and even the Targets in Ky, will make XD stuff for customers. You walk in, tell them what you want, and their crack sculpters bust a bad boy KT out in 15 mins, flat.

There are accounts of US troops using camouflage uniforms in the ETO but there was a problem.......most US troops didn't get or know about them, so anything camo was a target.....must be Germans. :? Re: What was the worst item ever made?

I don't feel that 21st figures are THAT bad. Granted, they aren't up to par with modern GI Joe or Star Wars, but they served their purpose well. With a tiny bit of effort and a few skills in modeling/modification, and you can make 21st figures look GREAT in dioramas.

That head sculpt on the far left (guy in the woodland camo) is one that I swapped for my WWII customs. I used to buy up the BBI figures just to swap the heads and accessories.

These are either bootlegs, or BBI sold off the molds when they gave up on 1/18.

Wow, this is old.

Was there ever an explanation as to why these were canned? I'd have liked some new head sculpts and a Dragon Bazooka.
