And while we are talking about helmets. I keep hoping that BBI will make an accessory pack like thier weapons packs but that includes only helmets, boonie hats and maybe berets. Maybe even something new like a patrol cap or a baseball cap or a sculpted cloth wrap similar to the one from the Sahara m...

How did you do the gun shields? Is that just sheet styrene? If so how did you get it to bend like that? I would love to see some making of type pictures. I know build-a-rama is mostly about casts and cloth, accessories that could be used on a variety of vehicles or dioramas, often in a variety of ti...

Personally, I glue everything, but usually I pull everything off the figure first to see what can be cast and used to outfit other figures. I'm a big fan of the modern BBI figures because all the little chest rig pouches and stuff were separate molds and glued on during production. That makes it eas...

What does it say about a guy, in uniform, deployed to a combat zone, who still plays with army toys? This forum isn't my first stop when I get to the office; email is always first and last since it's the best way to keep in touch with home. But I too look forward to reading the latest news and gossi...

If anyone sees these available online could you post it, or even better, email me directly. I'm in Iraq and really don't want to miss these.
I didn't see them on ebay, but if anyone sees them there I would consider it so let me know.
Thanks

It's already been said, but I would definately buy acurate modern desert style regular army type figures. I would also love to have some bad guys for them to fight. I still love the spec-ops guys so more of that with some CIA/civilian contactor type guys in mixed uniform and civilain clothes. What e...

What did you think of the two guys on guard getting in a fight and they're going to punch each other out? While on guard duty? Yeah, good point. I have never seen anything like that, and the one dude even pulled a knife? I still think the show is a good idea and has potential, but they really could...

75th, did you read Jarhead? I read it two years ago, while at mobilization station preparing to go into Iraq. Actually it was passed around while there, most of my buddies read it too. Swofford, while interseting and funny at times, does seem like he's telling war stories the way my grandpa used to ...

I thought the story at the roadblock was great. I like the introduction of an arab american soldier, but it still seems a little like a Vietnam movie with a replacement showing up quickly from somewhere and no one knows him. Units are deploying as units, training together for months before going ove...

Overall I liked it, yes there were flaws, but it has potential. I'll watch the next two episodes for sure, after that I will be heading over there, so I won't be able to watch Over There . I can look past the appearance of a Huey, though blatantly out of place. One technical detail I would like to m...

"Ghost Soldiers" by Hampton Sides is one of the best war books I have ever read! I would put it right along side "Black Hawk Down", "Band of Brothers", "The Killer Angels", or "We Were Soldiers Once and Young". A must read for anyone interested in military history (or really anyone). I saw the previ...

Steven Bochco is the writer/creator of "Hill Street Blues", "L.A. Law", and "NYPD Blue". He will be the executive producer of FX's new show "Over There". There are other cool photos at this site (armor and aircraft, I havn't had time to look through them all), but anyone interested in the '113 should really look at this armor-supplement being used in Iraq: http://www.primeportal.net/apc/sanders/m113_oif.htm (click the individual photos for larger ver...

BBI super ring mount

I mentioned in the Kiowa thread that the new BBI super humvee ring mount will also fit the ring hole in the BBI armored humvee. Here is something I hadn't tested though. The mounting fork for the M2 on the super humvee ring mount is perfectly scaled to fit the BBI MK-19! The fork has 4 pegs, or teet...
