Re: Chap Mei C-130 Photo Review

I got one, haven't assembled it yet. May be a while before I do. The shark mouth markings are stickers, by the way, so can be removed.

I wonder how hard it would be to paint the Chinese tank a desert tan. Has anyone tried this?

Re: schleich war elephant released

Now that you mention it, the beast does look kind of passive. I think I'll sit on this one for a while, and decide how much I really want it. If I can see it in-person at TRU that would help too.

Re: Poll: the future of 1/18 and prices

it's interesting because if the Black Hawk had never been released and just came out now, people would probably be diving on it (as they would for a Hind, as an example), even at this steep price. As it is it will most likely sell slowly but steadily....don't underestimate the sexiness of the windo...

Re: schleich war elephant released

Wow, TBF toys is out of stock on all of these, and TRU online doesn't seem to carry the elephant attachment.

Aferguson, did you happen to notice if TRU had the elephant attachment in the store?

Re: schleich war elephant released

Looks like the Romans used war elephants, too (from Wikipedia) - Rome brought back many elephants at the end of the Punic Wars, and used them in its campaigns for many years afterwards. The conquest of Greece saw many battles in which the Romans deployed war elephants, including the invasion of Mace...

Checked the BL near ny workplace yesterday. Same as the store I checked last weekend, except no SWAT items at all. Guess I'll check both again in a month or so.

Despite the obvious scale issue and toyishness, it's tempting in a way. Looks like the greenhouse lacks glass, howver, which is hard to correct,

Quad .50s in Vietnam

http://www.ndqsa.com/Quad50s.pdf

Hadn't realized they were used there. I wonder if it would be distorting reality too much to use 21C Quad .50 trailer with my other 21C Vietnam pieces. I like to add anything I can get away with. Does TTT or anyone else have a take on this?

Checked the store clostest to my house today, and was pleased to see that thet had some items in stock. I saw the little bird type helicopter, attack buggy, oversized ATV, FAV, Chinese tanks, a few assorted sets of figures and accessories (but not the checkpoint set with the dog that I want), horse ...

Re: Hoarding is causing me problems..

Aferguson, the answer is contained in your own words - "it is nearly impossible to evict a hoarder, so if they don't cooperate there isn't much that can be done about it. Hoarders are considered to be mentally disturbed and as such are one of the protected groups of people." Keep storing XD on your ...

It'll never be what it was. That strange, happy (for most of us) confluence of Walmart and 21C is not be seen again. Hopefully an occassional release from FOV and JSI will keep us alive. I think I'm done with repaints, though.

Re: Foxhole: 21st Century "Gray" 88mm -$79.99

You know, I've wanted one of these since reading dragon 53's post on June 15. But even then it felt to me like something wasn't right, so I didn't place a preorder with Foxhole or BadCat (which turned out to be just as well). Now, as a certified 1/18 maniac, I'd normally jump right on the ebay sales...
