Do they plan on selling their VF-152 and VF-41 F-14A Tomcats at retail such as target and TRU? And also did you get to visit BBI and get info on their 1.32 line>?lightning2000 wrote:Hi Ace,
I visited with Unimax/FOV on Sunday. Unfortunately, none of the new aircraft (P-39, B-25 or B-26) were on display so I cant share my impressions. The new 1:32 Lee, Stuart, Tiger I, King Tiger and Sd. Kfz. 7 were shown, and all looked great, as I've come to expect from FOV. In the 1:72 scale dept, only the LCM and M3/105 combo were being shown. The Dragon Wagon was a no-show. I'm not sure, but somehow the LCM looked a little "squashed" lengthwise, if I can use that term, and it would be interesting to lay it side-by-side with the version offered by Dragon to see if they're the same size. Anyway, it was a mock up that came with the same figures shown in their catalog. The M3 combo looked great, which came with several soldiers too. All in all, great value for the price.
I also got to see their new 1:72 scale R/C tanks. Each tank has both an IR receiver and transmitter built into the turrets. You can not only steer the tanks, but rotate the turrets as well. If you score a hit against your opponent, the other tank shudders to signify its been knocked out of action. We're not big R/C buffs, but I can see them doing quite well at retail.

Jason, I was surprised by lack of 1/32 info released by Admiral in NY.. I guess I read your posts wrong in the previous months since I was expecting a huge announcement of a "new" scale line.. Will there be any indication from AT as to what we can expect, so we don't end up with another Phantom fiasco???Jason of Admiral Toys wrote:They do look incredible! I talked with Merit extensively about this line and it will be a winner. But 21st also has the F-4 coming out in 1:32. I am torn between which one to purchase. Oh, who am I kidding...? I, personally, will purchase both. They are both incredible model makers, BBI, 21st and FOV all make great looking 1:32 aircraft. This scale is heating up. I am a true fan of all the above listed. I cannot wait to see what is next, B-17 anyone!! That would be incredible!

Wow, that is unfortunate..Jason of Admiral Toys wrote:We had the Corsair and Kate at the show. Only the Corsair was shown because I accidentally left the Kate’s canopy and propeller on the drafting table in China while I was packing.
We showed the Corsair to judge interest in the 1:32 scale line. Because of the numbers produced by our competitors it is very difficult to get the 1:32 scale line to a viable price point that is competitive in the market. More then likely the 1:32 scale will never be produced. This is why not much was said about the 1:32 scale line. It would take a mass-retailer to make it possible for Admiral to produce the line.
