New 1:43 Classic Armor offerings at Wally's

Post by GIToys » Sat Dec 09, 2006 10:37 am

Found a Flakpanzer IV and Panzer IV Ausf.D at Walmart...it's in the 1:43(?) scale that I've avoided for the most part. But these two were too cool, so I grabbed them. Good hunting.

Sorry, can't post pics. The Flakpanzer has a base coat of dark yellow with brown and green cammo; the Panzer(short barreled) is base coated gray with a light whitish overspray. The tracks move on these. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I saw these at a local WM recently, they look very nice but I don't need to start collecting another scale. Anyway, in addition to XD and 32X I've decided to get in to 1/72nd and I'm not sure why 21st has not jumped into that arena yet, well maybe someday. If I can remember to take my Digital Camera with me, I'll take some pics of these new offerings and post them for the board to see.

I spotted those two a couple weeks ago at a Kalamazoo Walmart. I don't know if they are 1/43 or 1/48 (and didn't have a micrometer with me to measure the difference). I thought the other cars/trucks in that scale were 1/48 but who knows. They don't exactly note it on the package... Makes me wonder if there is more to come?

I'm not certain, but I believe these are 1/48th scale.

Hmm... I like those Panzers! But do I really need another scale? I guess the 21c 1:48 planes I just got need some armor to go with them

I have no idea if these are in my area. They probably are not, but then if they were, I probably would have just overlooked them while trying to spot the new 1:18 or 1:32 products like I've done with the other 1:48 vehicles... Time to keep a sharper eye-out!

This was likely the best looking of the 3, IMHO.
