Both the sniper and machine gunner each have poseable & molded legs.
Sorry about no pictures, I,m not a computer genius.
If someone wants to email me (lkuepfert@aol.com) I will have the wife email pics to you and you can post them.

I knew it. 21st knows better than THAT. They may make many other decisions in bad taste, but I knew they wouldn't dispose of poseable legs. :D Can't wait to see these. My US guys need some back up.

What would really make this line shine would be a Russian sniper. Oh, toy gods...

Thanks GK and also thanks Razor... Appreciate the pictures and information.

These do indeed look outstanding to me, and I'll be nabbing quite a few in the coming days. Love 21st figures of this quality. I've been hankerin' for new U.S. guys too now for a while as we've been out of those for months.

Great figures, even if the "Sniper" is anything but. :) He's a dandy rifleman.

New Figures

Post by gk5717 » Tue Jun 03, 2008 2:16 pm

I for the life of me cannot figure out how these figures showed up in my area. I went to the WalMart in Eureka, Mo. a far suburb of St Louis.
The only reason I went there is my grandson had a ballgame near by.
My wife jumped on me for makeing the extra stop and as I was looking for the IJ Russians I spotted some 21st on the pegs, and just gave them a quick look, and there they were.
I was in a hurry with the wife waiting in the car and being mad, that I picked up 2 of each. I don,t know if there were more or not as I,m sure by now they are all gone. Then as stated I found 6 IJ Russians as they must have just put those out.
Here I was carrying and dropping about 11 packages, as I did not have a cart, hurrying trying to get to a checkout.
Well we made it to the game on time so all was well, except my grandson struck out 3 times.
I still find it strange that no one else are reporting finding these.

GK,
You are in the same boat with good company on the subject of how Walmart distributes it's product.

Good find.
If you offer up any of your extras of these new figures on the board here, I am sure you would have some takers!

That Stg looks like the Dragon Stg...much better detail than their past attempts at that rifle.

I just wish the figure had the ammo pouches for it, and not the K98 pouches.

The StG44 does look good. But why is it so hard for them to include the proper ammo pouches? It's not like they don't have the molds to do so. They've done StG pouches and the belt and lower torso portion of the D-Day officer doesn't have any molded ammo pouches. Why couldn't they use those figure parts? It's getting kind of ridiculous. Some of the DAK figures even include ammo pouches and accessories that can't be attached to the figure without modifications because of the 98K pouches.

I'm in total agreement on the incorrect ammo pouches... 21st would be wise to go to neutrally sculpted torsoes on figures with no ammo pouches, and make the ammo pouches a separate interchangeable accessory. They've gone that route in the past and it worked well. Works good for soldiers as prisoners too. It's something I'd definitely like seeing in the future.

GK, don't feel bad... My girlfriend's on my back any time I say, "let's cruise past toys", when we're at Wal-Mart. She rolls her eyes and we go... It's better than drinking I figure. Though I do that too, so I guess that's not a good argument for me, but that's beside the point...

Anyway, yeah, I feel your pain. The worst is asking to go on a big toy run... Where I live here near Pittsburgh, I have to go pretty far to find a TRU, so I'll hit the stores in between... Make one big toy run out of it. Boy does that always get the eye roll. Ya catch hell, but eh, whatcha gonna do? You're among friends on that subject around here I think.

Great find too... You're just the lucky guy this time, so good score for sure. I wish I'd found them. I did find DAK 2-packs tonight though and another German/American D-Day set, so I got those and I'm pretty happy. Also found another German 4WD IJ vehicle too, so I got that as well. Nice score for me on payday.

Good to see "normal" skin coloration. What was up with all the "coffee colored" figures? My WM is full of them.

That German looks like he might be tanned just like the Bruno figure. I think that's the new normal...or, I'm afraid it is.
I think it's to make them sun tanned looking, like they've been out in the field or something? Stinks, anyway you look at it.

I've been SEARCHING online and on Ebay, and I've yet to find anything. If Blasto has found anything online he's lucky.

The General is busy ordering 20 MG figures off ebay right now. He will be with us shortly. :D

GK/Razor, thanks for the photos. These guys look great and I can't wait to not find them. :P

Etailers, we need you to help us out with this one! Get 21C to cough up the goods.

Thanks for the photos and neat-looking figures. Wish they had been found at TRU, however, because the Wal Marts in the west will never see them... Guess it will be the e-tailers this time around

what makes the sniper a sniper?...other than it says that's what he is on the package. He looks like a regular rifleman to me. Does his rifle come with a scope, even?

From the pics, I would say, no he does not have a scoped rifle. It is just a M1 w/bayonet.

Since we got M14's w/ scopes on the Vietnam knelling figs, you would think 21stC would at least attach a scope to the M1...

Scoped M1 or not - when I find some of these guys - WATCH OUT! cause they will ALL go home with me (muhahahhaha!)

It would be nice to have them come with the right gear; however, there is an easy fix for it. Just slice off those rubbery glued on belts, and attach some Dragon webgear onto them, and they look about perfect.

These guys look great, however it is odd how 21st can't get pouches right, after all this time. It doesn't bother me too too much, again, as we do now have awesome new weapons and cool poses. :) You do know you can still be a sniper and not have a scope, right? I'm as good a shot with open sights at distance as I am with a scope.

I like how the gunner comes with a ammo belt for the .30, like the 1/6 guns. Makes it that much cooler. :D I'll be getting him for sure.

I can't wait to see that German with the Stg, man I'll be getting him in a heartbeat! Beautiful new weapons, I'm excited.

Someone that's a good shot without a scope would generally be considered a sharp shooter. When you say "at a distance", what distance are you talking about? Beyond 300-400 meters very few people can hit human sized targets without a scope. When I was in the army we used to shoot targets out to 300 meters. I usually scored expert on the range but I occasionally missed targets at that distance. A good sniper can hit targets at around 1000 meters or beyond with the right weapon. The longest confirmed sniper kill of the first Gulf War was 1800 meters with a Barret M82A1 .50 caliber sniper rifle. I'd like to see someone make that shot without a scope!

I'm meaning as in you can lie in wait for your target from somewhat of a distance, hidden, silent, alone. You're right, you'd be a sharpshooter, I used the wrong terminology, but you can still take out targets from a decent distance, under camoflauge with open sights, if a scope is not available. Maybe that's this guy's story? :D

Don't worry, I'm not taking it too seriously man, I'm not going to say I know a lot, I was just pointing out that from experience I can hit some things at good distance with open sights, but much further and the slightest variation can throw you off.
