Well, at least one made it east - I picked up my Bf-109G with the red sunburst in Wisconsin (or maybe IL).

But I certainly agree that WM distribution is a mystery. On the other hand, TRUs and Targets seem more consistent - the timing can still be off by weeks but they all seem to get much of the same products eventually.

Most stores up here clearancing the 1/18th stuff. I already have all/most of that, did however grab the smaller Bald Eagle and Polish 'stangs for $5 each!

Local wallyworld(bremerton WA) has the 1/18th planes down to $12.00  Friend picked up a p-40 and the red nosed 109 for me. Wll check em out later when he gets here. He said there is a few old crows and 109's left.

Yes these 109's have been sitting in my wal-mart since these planes were new what was that two years or so ago? OUCH! (box is actually faded it has beens sitting so long and not from sunlight either!)

one WM close to my area - just put out a boatload of D-day figures - this place has been dry for months only after peg warming japanese marines and US marines sat on the pegs for over a year. Seeing the D-day figues after seeing no place for figures for a few months - tells me we will be seeing figures for years to come - WM makes room for them.
Will probably see the vietnam figures at this WM in about 2 years I guess

Found new Germans today. Odheim and Osternoh have been given the bleach blonde treament as well as a bit of a suntan. The uniforms are a shade lighter than Odheim's original uniform color.

I think they were packed with the rest of the US Tankers in their new uniform colors as well. I spotted 4 Tankers in the lighter jacket/pants combo.

I took the pic w/ my phone, so its not the best. Their hair is similar in color to Bucholz (Artillery guy) but the new pinker skin really makes it stand out. They look like they could be lifeguards at the beach.

Yeah, I have to wonder what the deal is with all the surfer soldiers lately. I saw a bunch of the US tankers and some of the Germans, and it looks like all have private tanning beds and plenty of time to use them. Must be a whole production run of malibu barbies and kens got cancelled and "heavy suntan" paint was available cheap.

I finally bought the lavin f-104 today after passing it by untold number of times at multiple walmarts, month after month, in the company of all manor of homo sapiens and neanderthals, at ungodly hours of the night and mornings, I finally bought it.

I tell myself to use irrefuteable reasoning concerning repaints and to say no to the insidious chicom plot- that leaves the PH p-40s as the only repaints I also don't need.

Yesterday a brand-new super-demo WM opened up 3 miles away from me. This new super-demo WM is a prototype WM that has a specialized deli with an olive bar, mountain bike pro-shop in house and all sort of other items/features not found in other super WMs.
Thinking that I would find the same in their toy section, I only found the 1/144 Zeros and tanks. As well only 4 ME-109s that are currently found at every other WM in the area. I also found no 1/18 figures or 1/6 weapons like the others! What a bummer!
I was hoping to find the Polish, Berin Express and the other P-51 that are out but not even this 'pseudo' elite WM had them!

The problem with Wal-Mart, from what an employee told me, is that they will not restock an item until all of them are sold out. So, if you keep seeing the same old ME-109s or D-Day figs, it is because they are waiting for someone to come along and buy the remainder. The distribution also doesn't help, since an area may get all the same assortment and thus you have no choice. It works for all the product, apparently. I also collect anything concerning VW buses, and I have to wait an agonizingly long time for the last Beetle in a Jada Toys set to sell before they order a new batch that may have ONE bus in it.

I'm hoping they will break their restock rule for Christmas, but...

I stopped off yesterday at the Shawnee Ks. WM looking for the new figure repaints. Didn't find them but was shocked to find the Platoon Leader and the German Artillery figures. One of each and the first time I have seen them in the KC metro area.

The problem with walmart in my AO, is when they sell out they have not restocked. Of the 5 in my area 1 has figures (S2 Tankers). You might find 1:144th tanks or some 1:48th armor and maybe a few 1:32nd model kits but thats it and its been like this since summer.

I found the last 18th plane today at a local WM. It was a tiger striped Mig15 way up high on a shelf. Couldn't pass it up since it was only $15.

Yep, my Walmarts are just about out of stuff. A couple tanker figures, 1:144 vehicles and some weapon sets are just about what;s left. Pretty sad.....
