1/18th Scale Sdkfz 222 And 223 Will Ship On Thursday

Post by pickelhaube » Thu Aug 03, 2017 5:31 am

After 2-1/2 years of building on the Hind and coming to the realization that I will need 6-8 more gallon kits of resin. $650-$850

I need extra funds for the Hind to continue .

WORK IS CONTINUING AND I AM NOT WAITING FOR RESIN AT THIS TIME

AT THIS TIME.

So is there any interest in the 222 and 223 ( funk ) 2.) ?

Funk = Radio .

Originally sold for $250 new price $225 .

PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS BUYERS RESPOND TO THE POLL

I voted for both,I'm glad you are thinking of the 222 again, it a great looking AFV,if you produce the 223 that would be excellent also.

If you guys who actually want this please contact me because I do need to put in my final order of resin for the Hind and will need to add on the resin and RTV for the Hind and 222/223 .

The 222 is ready to go and I have the 223 turret in shapeways.

The turret is smaller for the 223 and the hull roof over the divers compartment is a little different than the 222 .

Add of course the 223 has the antenna rack .

The original antenna rack collapsed . You guys who want it , is this a feature that you want as well ?

Some great pics for sale from Missing links today.

Here are our boys chillaxing before they head out .

Here is our boys mounting up at the depot.

Here is Franz showing off with the 20mm and girly man Hanz struggling with the mg34

Do you notice that in this pic there is a soldier leaning up against the grenade cage . The cage is all the way open because the bottom of the frame is against the turret . And the vision plate is right under it. Were those 2 come together is were I am going to make my hinge.

I will be spending my Labor day working on the 223 .

There were 5 versions made !!.

I am considering 2 versions and may have to narrow it down to one.

The Sdkfz 223 Ausf. A - 4 and the Sdkfz.Ausf. B -5

The B-5 is almost exactly like the late model 222 except the large antenna and small turret.
They simply plated in the areas left vacant from the large turret down to the small. It was the final version of the 223 .

The A-4 hull had the smaller turret and the drivers overhead was thickly armored and the front ( forward looking ) vison blocks were reduced to one block .
Making it a cyclops .

B-5

A-4

For those of you who are getting this , is there any preference ?

Almost exact ( compared to the 222) B-5 or Cyclops A-4 ?

Hmmmm....

No input ,so I will make an executive decision . I will do the B-5

I thought I was ahead of the game and sent Jay the turret of the 223 . So going out to the shop today I thought that I had a leg up.
When I started plotting things out I realized I sent him the wrong turret !!!!!

I sent him the turret for the 222.

Anyway I made it today along with an A-4 and B-5 .

After working on the protos I will be going with the B-5 I do not like the looks of the big armor over head of the A-4 .

Yes I will be . :D :D :D

I will have time to remake the molds in between the pours of the Hind. The new resin has a 4 hour cure time

Would you just want the turret or the fill in plating as well ?

I could just use the 222 turret and make the necessary changes.

Al right Guys,

The Prototype for the Sdkfz 223 is done .

Only 8 years in the making !!!

$200, yep price reduction !!!

For you guys who got the 222 If you get the 223 I will use your $25 and use that as a down payment on the 223 if you want it .

That is a bargain.
You guys who ordered the Rebooted 222 will probably have them next week. EVERYTHING IS DELAYED BECAUSE OF THE COLD WEATHER.

Resin does not work well in the cold armored cars or helos.

Here you go.

Weapons system.

For another custom projekt I´m interested in a turret only.
Maybe we can manage it that Tom send all his stuff and the kits he get from other members for me to your address and you´ll do the sending to Germany. Maybe with that I get some progress in that long long (much to long) lasting process.

OK on the 222 and combined shipping.

On the subject of the 222 turret I am going to make the longer turret for the Sdkfz 251/23 ASAP .

My RTV for the 223 should be in today so I can make the molds for the 223.

I am pretty sure the weather will not effect the RTV like the resin.

So I will try and make those this week.

Next week is supposed to be warmer because I need to get back on the HIND !!!
