What Is the Most Wanted Aircraft Project ?

Post by pickelhaube » Sun Apr 05, 2015 7:19 am

Other than the Mi-24 Hind and A-10 what is the most wanted aircraft project that can be done by me

Pegasis is still sitting on the me-163 Comet so no need in doing that one .

These are things that I want to build , but what I want is certainly different than you guys want .

twin Mustang
natter
macchi 202
p-39
mig-3
stromavik
tropical spitfire
spitfire on floats

What are your choices that can be considered by me .

NO BIG BOMBERS PLEASE LET'S TRY TO KEEP THIS REALISTIC .

John Wayne : Mine was taller

The P51B/C Mustang conversion. I think it would be an outstanding venture since there are so many P-51D's out there.

The P51 B/C are good choice too !

here are my fantasy proposal :

F 100 super sabre
F 105 thud
F 8 crusader (with variable wing & flaps )

My Choice would be The Macci and the Tropical Spit...what a perfect North African Campaign pair

Hey Matt at least with the Spit you have the basis of one to work from , then its a matter of making a Volks Filter a new Prop Hub, Exhaust stacks and the 20mm cannon and the bulges for the magazines. (thats if its going to be a MkV)

Anything Russian, Russian would be my first pick as nothing has been made. The Macchi would be very cool. I really would like a Natter also. If I had my wish I would love a Arado 196.

I realize that most people would perfer other projects but Ive always liked this plane and in 1/18 it would be amazing.

Seriously,

Russian, Italian and Japanese offerings are lacking as are MAJOR British examples: Hawker, Hawker, Hawker! Hurricane, Typhoon, Tempest.

And Japanese: Tony, Oscar, Val, Kate.

Hey! what about a Rufe floatplane from a Zero conversion? Maybe more practical than a Spit with floats?

As far as U.S.? P-40E, K, M, N

yep not sure how many years it goes back , but when I first posted them , Jack the Whack from Skyjerks pressed forward with a 3-d printing of the same mod and got it out.

Along with his Tony . He was never forthcoming with his use of having a 3-d printer guy do his work for him always taking the credit for himself .

What a notorious LIAR .

I question him on the use and he got PISSED!!!!

Too bad he can not be held responsible for his dastardly deeds.

Well, of the planes PH mentioned at the beginning of this thread, I'd love either a Macchi 202, Mig-3, or P-39. The Mig and P-39 would give us a chance to have some Russian WWII aircraft , which are really needed in 1:18. I've long liked the Mig-3 for whatever reason... Its a sleek-looking fighter :)

If only I had the time, resources and talent. :(

O.K., so I'm really oversimplifying this but....

 If you check out the plan view and side views of an ME-410. You can see the outer wing panels are very similar to the wings on the 109G. The engines are very similar, nearly identical to the nose of a 109G. The tail feathers are strangely similar (a little) to a Corsair :!:

Image

So some kit bashing like the scale modelers do could go a long way to start an otherwise scratch building project. The modifications to the existing parts might be easier than starting for scratch with everything :?: It would mean trashing two 109Gs and a Corsair. That alone could make it not practical.

Also try comparing the same components of a 109E with an ME-110. Not as close as the 410/109G though.
