The dash color is an easy fix if the windshield will come off to put some paint on. (Any advice gladly received - I can see two tabs on the sides, but not sure how they are fixed at the front)

The reverse C on 'Hun Hunter' (One side only is wrong on mine) is also a quick fix

I now know that the tail wing is a one off and my retailer is happy to swap the one I have with the camo on the wrong side.

I don't display my 1/18 aircraft with pilots, but if I did, these would be an issue to me - poor paint job especially on the eyes.

If it hadn't been pointed out, I wouldn't have known the exhaust stain was overdone, but even so, even with this and the other niggles, I'm happy to have the Mustangs in my 1/18 warbird collection.

Has anyone been selling these in the states? I would like to order one or two, but cannot locate a US seller. Thanks for the help.

Historic Aviation has 3 mustangs and a BF109G for $99.99 each. They also have the Dauntless for a bit more. Just enter 1/18 in the search on their web site for those pages.

Hadn't been in my local Hobbytown USA store for a few weeks, but went in this afternoon and found they had the full selection of the new P-51s. It was good to see them in person... They are the 21c P-51s through and through and quite a bit like 21c, there were the flaws, most of which have already been mentioned in this thread. They actually included more labeling and painted details in the cockpits, from what I could see through the box. There were few misalignments on the markings, but some overspray in places. The red on the Tuskeegee P-51 is the wrong shade. "The Hun Hunter" is the best of the bunch, but that backwards "C" on the tail kills it. The store had the planes priced for $109 + tax. While I was certainly tempted, I decided that I have enough 1:18 P-51s (and even sold a couple off recently) so I don't yet need another!

But we'll see how long this lasts

i'm repeating myself, but when it comes to the repaints of the Mustang, I'm reminded of Monty Python's Dennis Moore skit, especially the point where everyone reaches their lupins saturation point. Just substitute "Mustang repaints" for lupins.
