Does anyone make a 1/32 jagdpanzer iv?

Post by cjg476 » Sun Mar 09, 2014 3:11 pm

I have the hetzers but does anyone make a jagdpanzer iv. I have always liked them and wanted to add one to my collection. Is the 1/35 kit that much off?

Thanks, Corey.

COREY:

I've been thinking the same thing for some time. FOV has not released a 1/32 Jagdpanzer IV and the prebuilt 1/35 ones on ebay are expensive.

Monogram made a kit that you can still find on ebay. I had one I built but I already sold it to another forum member.

Agreed - There is the Monogram 1/32 Lang but that's a rare kit.
Bandai did the 1/30 version also now very rare - you can see a built one in the collection I just got - it's way bigger than the Monogram 1/32 Panzer IV variants I got at the same time.

True - one hasn't sold on ebay for a couple of months and when they do appear they are about $50. I've never seen the Bandai for sale.

Here are a couple of shots to compare panzer IV hulls in three scales.

(Sorry they aren't all the same vehicle, these were the first I picked out and they haven't been through the paint shop yet.)

Hope this helps.

Kev,

Really like the dark green one. Can you give me anymore info if that kit can be found?

Thanks,

Corey.

If you mean the largest of the three, that's been built from the 1/30 Bandai kit which is very rare.

It's going to need some TLC. It's got a Panther style tool rack either side of the fighting compartment plus what looks like a tube for gun cleaning rods, I'm not sure if they were supplied in the original kit but the real vehicle didn't have them.
Needs a repaint into a more typical late war 3 tone scheme when I next break out the paints.

The middle one is a Stug IV from a Monogram kit which is perhaps slightly easier to find on the likes of E-Bay as long as you are prepared to wait/pay the price

i had a plan to cut up a 1/30 Bandai kit then recast it so people could do an easy conversion of there 21st C. panzer IVs (because they 1/30 scale) and then make a easy conversion for FOV out of the monogram kits. but work has raised rates again and i work so much now. im so tired when i get off. i don't think ill ever have the time to do the customs i wanted to do now.

Dragon armor makes a 1/35 prebuilt jagdpanzer iv?

Can someone show me a link to buy one?

That's the Jag IV flyboy is selling; he has it listed here on the forum.

I don't think there is a Dragon Armour 1/35 Jagdpanzer.
They released several versions of Tiger I, Tiger II, Elefant, Panther and the S.P. mortar

The only prebuilt I am seeing is the one put out by Testors a few years back and those are 1/35.

I gave the 1/30 Bandai Jagdpanzer IV Lang a makeover from this....

[urlImage]

To this...

Among other things, I reshaped the mantlet, removed some of the poorly sited kit parts, added some tools and tightened the track adding schurzen to hide the join.

Airbrushed with Tamiya acrylics, then detailed with oil washes and Games Workshop acrylics

I'm not sure if it would be too big to display with 1/32 vehicles.. it's too big to go next to my 1/35 panzers

Thanks, I couldn't leave it as it was - wouldn't it be too big even to stand next to 1/32?

I'm working on the 1/30 Hummel now.

Well, it should be roughly about 3/4" longer than its 1/32 version would be.

Hi Kev
Great looking Jagdpanzer iv. Would love to have one in my collection. Please show the Hummel when you finish.
