1/32 Forces of Valor.Where are they? *UPDATE 3-11-2014*

Post by cjg476 » Wed Jan 29, 2014 3:12 pm

So I started searching online like crazy on their website and finally found a number for Panache Place and started calling extensions until I finally got ahold of a guy named Roger.

I started a conversation with him and asked what is going on with 1/32? And he answered my questions and then some. He told me that new releases will be coming out in March. He told me that they have a lot of old stock in China that they are trying to put in the new packaging.

He them told me not to be discouraged I would see some new toolings this year as well as more repaints which he apologized for but I saw no reason why because I like variety.

He also confirmed more 1/700 ships, specifically battleships and carriers. Said this market will keep growing because there is no competition and they are selling great.

He also said more 1/72 would be coming down the line. Some jets were mentioned but nothing named specific.

I didn't get anything more important than that but he said they stop announcing releases before they were ready to ship from china because they don't announce anything anymore unless its ready to go.

May not be great news to a lot of people but as an avid 1/32 collector I wanted some answers. It satisfies me for now ( until March anyways).

Corey.

:?: Did you at least get any hints if new 1/32 is WW2 or "Modern" and if it's just more new Germans?

He wouldn't say but he said collectors would be excited and happy.

Did he talk about price or the recent lack of weathering? I hope there is something new and exciting...

He didn't Ketelone but he did acknowledge the fact that they made the mistake of releasing the same scheme over and over and were trying to fix that.

CJG476:

Thanks for the update. I stopped paying much attention to FOV when they eliminated weathering and increased their prices. The last new FOV 1/32 I bought was the re-released M26 Pershing---which had weathering.

That looks to be a good piece Dragon. I've been looking to get my hands on one myself. Hopefully we see some very good pieces but I'm not holding my breathe weathering wise.

That sounds promising cjg. The latest Pershing is a cool piece as was the original release. I lucked out with the recent Pershing, I bought it for $35 from an individual.

Thanks for the update, cjg476. Sounds relatively promising.

But like many others, I am pretty disappointed with the latest FoV armour. No weathering, and they look " cheaper "than their older releases, even though they are more expensive.

I have almost all the 1/32, 1/35 armour types that I want, and FoV need to get back to what they were doing a while ago before I would consider another purchase. So I am happy that I picked up what I did, when I did.

I agree with Snake. Less detail all around plus the die cast content decreasing while the prices increase just doesn't work for me. I have a lot of fine looking FOV vehicles from back when "Enthusiast Edition" actually meant something. Now "Factory Fresh Edition" would be more fitting.

I just hope it's true. I wonder if they will have a display this year at the New York toy show. Maybe they will show some of the new items there. I am looking forward to Fov coming out with some new models in 1/32. I just hope they continue with the cats and wine bottles with every tank. I don't mind repaints but, they need to do some weathering on them. I think the motorpool had pictures of some Fov 1/72 jets on their website. Looking forward to March, it's been awhile since I was happy and excited about something new in 1/32.

Just looked again on the Motor Pool site. They have listed for Fov in March. 1:32 scale Elephant Italy, Stug, Bradley fighting vehicle 3rd issue, also a 1/48 Huey. I think they also listed 1/72 Sherman. Nothing new so far.

Some good info Corey.

There was a rumor now confirmed, of a 1:72 V-22 Osprey by FOV.

That Stug III B looks to be just a reissue; not even a repaint. I know its the same color as the original and I think they are reusing the vehicle number. Couldn't even change the number so you could pose them side by side...

However, I was quite excited by all the diecast Volkswagen buses even though I am not actively collecting them at present. Surprised at the larger number of commercial as opposed to passenger models.

My local hobby store got one of those in. The ship itself is fantastic! I'm a little more disappointed with the aircraft. They just look too toyish to me, almost like Micro Machines knock-offs. I know there is only so much detail that can be shown on a 1:700 scale F-14, but still... I did like the fact that they came loose so one could put them in various positions on the flight deck. When I saw it, I didn't walk out with it...

Yeah I also have been waiting patiently because motorpool forum or someone said at toyfair that they were putting vehicles on hold for awhile but that's not what I was told when I called. And I was told I could let people know about some new release info coming out this March. I feel betrayed.

cjg, years ago I attended the Hobby Show here in Chicago. I too spoke to the FOV representative present. I actually knew more than the representative. At least the person to whom you spoke seemed to know a little about FOV. The rep I met told me one thing that did come true. That rep advised FOV was abandoning modern armor. The rep said older collectors weren't interested in modern vehicles. WWII was king, especially German armor. The rep said any modern armor would be sold as Team Bravo. All we can do is be patient. Have you thought about calling that guy back?
My experience with this hobby dictates that more than likely I'll be disappointed...

I think I may have to call him. That's the thing he seemed very in the loop he even told me I could call him back with any questions. Part of what he told me is true so far the repaints mentioned above. He also said there were new pieces we hadn't seem yet coming out. I was trying to give it a little more time before I started making phone calls again. I dont think he would lie on purpose, maybe a decision was made since then from s higher level.

Stay tuned...I will find out more.
