I saw a trailer/preview for an upcoming WWII film starring Matt Damom, and George Clooney, John Williams, where a special team is put together to save artwork confiscated by the Germans, who are planning to destroy it. It looks interesting.
I'm pleased to see more WWII films.

Just read from the Tank Museum in Bovington. The real Tiger tank 131. will be used in the new Brad Pitt Movie. It's great to see they will use the real deal. No made-up Tiger in this movie. Looking forward to seeing this movie when it comes out.

The tiger they had in Saving Private Ryan looked good, I'm guessing it was not a real one? How did they do it? All CG?

Will they be reprinting that tiger for this movie? If my memory serves me it was one if the first captured in Africa, is the DAK paint job on it? Even if its been repainted, if they repaint it again for the movie will they then leave it like that or repaint it DAK again ? I would think they would not want too many layers of paint on it.

It'll be great to see a "real" Tiger I in this movie.

UPDATE.

An entertainment writer who saw the FURY trailer wrote the following:

"...this looks very, very special. Ayers has also crafted a grittier and more realistic European Theater than depicted in "Saving Private Ryan" or HBO's "Band of Brothers."

NORMANDY:

In the photo from KELLY'S HEROES, the SS officer on the right is famous French actor Yves Montand who is gunned down later by Clint Eastwood.

FRIDAY, MAY 2

FURY---new photos released from the World War II movie starring Brad Pitt as the commander of an M4 Sherman tank behind German lines in the last days of the war in Europe. Writer/director David Ayer (TRAINING DAY) said, "I set out to make the ultimate tank movie. " Ayer commented on the movie's German Tiger I tank, the only Tiger I still running, "I couldn't tell you how much insurance this thing had on it – it was crazy. It actually ended up performing really well. It's like the tank was happy to get out of the barn and run around. These tanks like to run hard. That's what they're built for." Shia LaBeouf, Jon Bernthal, Logan Lerman and Michael Pena also star. Premiere is November 14.

I found a photo of a real Sherman named "Fury" in Steven Zaloga's ARMORED ATTACK 1944.
The real "Fury" is an earlier Sherman with the 2nd Armored Division shown in Operation Cobra and not an Easy 8 Sherman as in the movie.
