i would pay 3 bills for a 1/18 a10 if he has the proto type who has the molds and is there any way to start over? did jsi do the tooling or was this a hand build? can a civil suit be bought against {dick} or would it be easy enough to convince him to return what's not his . i aggree its not to hard to catch mister sidearm off guard . the collector world would be a cooler place with this bird. could tko start a fund for legal i would contribuit.

Have you not read the previous posts? Even if they start legal action against him there is no way to prevent him from destroying it before it can be reclaimed. That is the kind of guy being dealt with.

Also had nothing to do with JSI.

The original prototype was given to Dick (jack ) he was supposed to tweak it up then make moulds from it and make his own kits.

ONE HELL OF A GIFT FROM 21ST.

He got a job in Detroit and screwed all of the people he took money from .

He was supposed to give the proto back but did not.

No moulds were made .

He just ripped people off.

It looks like there are a lot of guys who think the price point is a little high.

I would think that there would be a lot more willing to come on board.

In the next week or so I will put out a feeler on e-bay. If I can.

Something to the effect of "New 1/18th Scale Model Kit A-10 In the Planning Stage "

"Estimated price $500 " and see if there is any interest.

As said earlier there is one collector who is willing to pay for the prototype out of his own pocket.

I also have another who is willing to do the same.

So this thing can definitely get started but it is still a high priced big ticket item.

And these guys need to have there money reimbursed to make this thing a go .

But if we drop the price point down to say $450 the estimated sales will have to jump up to 40-50 units minimum.

That is a lot of units and making 20 more just to break even seems to be a lot more work.

But will $450 make the A-10 more attractive ?

Or is $450 still too far of reach for the XD populace ?

At some point folks are going to have to understand that this shit costs money and if you want it you're going to have to pony up. No one is mass-producing an A-10, so price is never going to be what people would like. I would like to have only paid $60 for my B-25 kit to keep it in line with all the other models I have bought, but it didn't and won't ever happen.

So the question is: Do you really want an A-10 or not? Strike while the iron is hot, people.

Like the man said, given the state of the economy, I think this is as close as we're EVER gonna get for an A-10 that doesn't cost thousands of dollars. This might be the only opportunity to get this bird. I'm surely not happy with paying $500 for it either, but that is the price and I'm gonna jump at the chance.

Not to get the Jack at Skyworks thing going but I just want to state an opinion which I had not heard voiced previously. I do not think that Jack was EVER the one doing these custom models. I am very sure it was his father and Jack was simply taking credit for it. Do you think that it a coincidence that the INSTANT Jack's father passed away that Skyworks folded? All the products that were in the works instantly stopped-it would not make any financial sense to do this. Jack couldn't fulfil his obligations because he did not know how. I really believe his father was the creative genius that did those models, not Jack. Jack couldn't do the A10 because he did not know how to do it. It would have been far simpler for him to just quit taking further commissions and finish the ones that people had already paid for. He couldn't do it because he had no clue how to do them.Someone with Jack's personality would never be able to admit that it was not really him who did those customs as doing so would reveal to everyone he actually had little or no talent of his own. That is my feeling on the matter.

Yes it does.

Another thing when his Hurricane came out , it had Jack's ( dick ) logo on the bottom.

This logo was professionally done,. By a 3-D printer.

When I called him on in it he told me to F--- 0ff.

Nothing wrong with 3.D printing

At least admit to it.

Also the f-14 gear was done by a 3-d printer and he sud contacted it out to a spin metal company.

if any of this is even close to true does anyone think he might give up the a10 if someone asked nicely? if his pride is hurt do you blame him. he may give it up if someone asked and did not slam him.does the first post know him ? can there still be hope has any one tried to locate jack? i may be out of line i dont know the whole story but there are always 2 sides to every story. you never know until you ask the worst he can say is no and f. o. a. d. then we are back where we started.

Yes, we do know. Many attempts have been made to contact him and resolve this. He has taken money and property from people, including Pickel, so it is not just a matter of hurt pride keeping him silent - it is criminal behavior that he will have to answer for.

I do have a long history with jack ( dick )

It is not my nature to slam anybody who I have not have contact with.

Years ago I slammed him hard on this forum and a few guys actually came to his defence.

There was some banter back and forth and a year or so later he took their money and ran.

ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS AS WELL. :?

But anyway , there does not seem to be a high desire on this project given the price point. $500.

Even at $450 , $50 less still not get the response as I would have liked.

All the ducks are in a row and we ( the investor , 3 D printer and me ) are ready to pull the trigger on this project.

But again ....

Shortly after New Years I will try and post an interest post on e-bay to garden interest.

After it runs we will re-evaluate this project to see if it will come to fruition.

Many have cried themselves to sleep wanting a A-10 in 1/18th scale.

It is up to you guys if this opportunity slips away.

It really is put up or shut up time for this 1/18 A-10.

Pickel is doing everything he can to get this done, and these customs are not cheap.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is enough interest, given the price.

A real shame for those that are willing to spend the money to get a very unique, and rare 1/18 Warthog. :(

Pickelhaube, I voted no for only the reason that the bird does not interest me as a collectible.
In no way was it a vote against your skills to develope this AC. To any still considering this project,
I feel 100 % confident this is the fella that can get it done and deliver a quality model, with
the adequate support of financially networked buyers. jmo

The A-10 is not for everyone.

I have been marking customs for a while now.

I started my first custom ( on this forum ) and posted step by step pics of the progress.

It was the P-36.

Now I have a few under my belt and most of the time ( with my track record ) most guys will give up their deposits sight unseen with my new project.

I know the price point is high unfortunately that is the way it has to be.

$500

Once covering expenses hopefully a profit will be made.

My financial backer will be ready to launch this project in the month of February .

So this post has been running for a while , is there any new interest or has interest wained and gone into another direction ?

Same no vote since I don't have much interest in any jets past Vietnam.

Am I correct that your backer wants the A-10 even if it is a "one of" made by you?

How big would this mother be?

I love the A-10 but for around $500, I'd love a 2 engine WW2 plane better (B-25, B-26, Me-110 etc).

My 2 cents.

You know, Pickel, once your backer has his A-10 you should probably wipe your hands clean of the A-10 and never touch it again. After years of people crying for an A-10 the opportunity arrives to get one and all I see is excuses not to get one.

The A-10 is a huge plane. What did you people think it would cost?
