Jeeps/Kubelwagen/Schwimmwagen in 1/18 scale

Post by pickelhaube » Thu Jan 19, 2012 7:28 am

Hey Guys,

The 21st Cent Jeep is selling for well over $100. I forget the name buy there is another new Jeep out that has a lot more detail that is selling for $100+.

At this price one would have to think twice before they start modifying and expensive model.

So what if you had a resin copy of the 21st ? If you mod that there would be nothing to lose.

So would you guys spend $100+ for a resin copy Jeep with a modification ?

well both Solido and Gates make 1/18 jeeps and they are still fairly easy to find for well under $100.

The Kubel might be a better thing to copy.

Not for a Jeep, but how about the amphibious Seep?

If guys want you to make a Jeep, how about an armored Jeep or a SAS desert Jeep?

My 2 cents.

Any more thoughts on the Kuble ? I am not sure if their were a lot of variants on that,

Does anybody make a Shwimwagon ( spell ? ) in 1 /18 th ?

Any interest in that ?

As far as the Jeep goes I was thinking of the gun shield with the twin bazookas.

And the SAS. Of course you have the fallow me Jeeps as well as the rail road jeep.

Matthew, I have a 1/16 Schwimmwagen kit made by Edward...(looks great with my FOV 1/16 Tigers)...would love to see one in 1/18...I still have the instructions that are quite detailed and can scan/send them if you want.
The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

A Schwimmwagen would be a great choice, of course you have to make sure enough people were on board for it, I'm hoping you can get to the 251 mod first :D, that is one I will have to have 8)

I'd be up for the Kubel or the Jeep, closest I've come to a good jeep is the PTE Mutt.

I'd just want a plain jane one with a .30cal or maybe an SAS one.

Schwimmwagen would be interesting to me... Ihave a jeep and a Kubel, and I know not everyone does, but it's not like they don't exist in one way or another... A Schwimmwagen is only in 1/16 so I'd be much more interested in small stuff if it's new.

I would be totally in for a Schwimmwagen. That is one of those smaller German vehicles I have wished for in 1:18 for a long time.

I'm interested in the schwimmwagen, but would like to have an idea of the price tag first.
