Jnewboy Customs 1/18 Custom Tiger I ~ Kursk 1943 ~ Das Reich
This is the troop car from Indiana Jones. I really enjoyed doing this custom and I think it came out great. Out of the box this really looks like a toy but after doing the custom work on it its transformed into an invaluable addition to the 1/18th line up of support vehicles! This one is already sold but thought I would share.

That is some excellent work!
Re: Jnewboy Customs ~ INJ Troop Car *SOLD*
didn't you agree to just use one thread for your custom displays Jon? Looks like you're using one per item now. Please stick to the agreement.

If only I had your skills...
Someday you may be pushed into a panel van and taken to my underground bunker and made to work for me!!!
Its a picture I found online, its a 1/16 Jagdtiger with 1/18 vehicles and men around it, except I think the guy standing on it may be 1/16....

yes i was thinking that the tank crewman are 1/16 and the soldiers are 1/18. They don't look too bad next to it. Not sure what's up with the little nazi flag on top of the JT. No german planes around and it's too small to see even if there were.

lol.
I have a 1/16 figure torso of a tanker. They do look good in 1/18, but the figures seam noticeably bigger.

Aferg and Flyboy are both right, and yes the flag is funny, (alternate history maybe - no western front? maybe?) the tankers are 1/16 and the soldiers are 1/18, I think the reason they look so good with it is the Jagdtiger is a tiny bit under scale, in fact the 1/16 guy standing on it almost looks freakishly big in comparison to the Jagdtiger... In reality it was not exactly a small vehicle...
Re: Jnewboy Customs ~ 1/18 Me-109F-2 ~ Barbarossa ~ Now on S
hm....if the JT is underscale i'm ordering it right now...lol. I don't think it is though. The Matorro KT isn't and this is the same chassis the JT is built on. The 1/16 guy may just be a bit overscale in the same way XD 1/18 figures are a bit overscale.
The reason why the 1/18 soldier figures on the ground look good beside the JT is because the tank, being heavy, is nestled deep into the grass whereas the 1/18 soldiers are light and more or less floating on top of the grass which makes them look taller than they are. Elevating a figure a bit really makes it look larger, it's a neat little trick i've used a few times with underscale figures i've accumulated.

As I have read on the 1/16 tanks thread the jagdtiger like you said is just put on top a kingtiger chassis, wasnt the hunting tiger a little longer? chassis was stretched just alittle? thats what I meant.aferguson wrote:hm....if the JT is underscale i'm ordering it right now...lol. yes the JT chassis was a bit longer, a few inches. So i guess in that regard it's a bit under scale but width and height should be 1/16.
Matorro/Heng Feng makes the JT, flyboy.

If and when I get one I think I will make that one shown in the photos "332" anyone know what unit its from??
In regard to my 109 on ebay I should note that it was overcast the day I took the pics so the green looks darker than it is.

Must not spend $260 on the JT ... Must not spend $260 on the JT ... Must not spend $260 on the JT...
Jnewboy, could you please inform me how you made the stand for the MG34? I am working on my own troop car and would love to have that MG mount!

The mg mount was mad from the gun that came with the Kendzai tanker figure, I made a pole and a tiny nail to slid into the pole so the gun can pivot.B17Fortress wrote:Must not spend $260 on the JT ... Must not spend $260 on the JT ... Must not spend $260 on the JT...

The IJ car that Jon customised for me turned out fantastic. The stand and the MG on top look very realistic.
