I think if we see anything in 1/6th it would be like the Bbi F-15C cockpit aragent ...but with more frontal action with the Gun and ammo drum....not saying bbi or any one is going to do it just a logical course of action. if they wanted too. would be a cool ideaShin Densetsu wrote:BothIs this a wishlist or has somebody heard something.

If we did see an A-10, what would be the best payload to put on it? Or would you prefer if JSI made different bomb loads you could buy separately? You know what would be cool? Having a team of Air Force Combat Controllers as a separate pack to go with it. You need someone to call in that Airstrike.

I like to customize my bomb load as I see fit...I like that idea.Jericoeagle1 wrote:If we did see an A-10, what would be the best payload to put on it? A-10s really aren't flown in combat with the huge amounts of ordinance you see on so many models. It looks cool, but it isn't accurate for combat operations.
A normal load would be something like two Sidewinders, Two AGM-65 Mavericks, and 4 CBU-89s with the AN/ALQ-119 would be cool.
On the other hand, they could include the normal load you see on models: 2 Sidewinders, 6 AGM-65 Mavericks, 2 500lb. Bombs, 2 GBU-12s, and 12 Mk82s. so that the collector could arm it like they want.
It would be cool if JSI would produce seperate weapons packages that could be used between their aircraft. If they did produce an A-10, the weapons packages could be shared between it, the F-14 and F-15 since they all are capable of carrying and delivering some of the same ordinance. They could be sold by oridnance type: Air to Air, Air to Ground, Laser Guided, etc. Hasegawa has done this in the past.
If JSI did do the A-10 and included removable or opening access panels, they should produce a Dragon that loads the shells for the GAU-8:

Seems that JSI has some interests in producing ground support equipment and you couldn't have a proper diorama showning an A-10 being armed if you didn't have this...

That's the better option considering the flak that BBI got for their minimal armnament on their F/A-18C. Better to give the consumer options rather than limiting them.On the other hand, they could include the normal load you see on models: 2 Sidewinders, 6 AGM-65 Mavericks, 2 500lb. Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:
F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

If JSI does the A-10 in 1/18 scale, here is a good reference chart of the load out they could do. I think it would also be cool if JSI looked into doing weapons packs and making them interchangable among their jets since many of them can carry the same ordinance.

One piece of ordinance that is missing from the chart above is the AIM-9L Sidewinder. It should be the "L" model for more accuracy. There should be two on a multi-ordinance pylon either on station "1" or station "11". Here is a picture showing the Sidewinder missile family:

Another piece of ordinance that is missing is the option for a 7 shot rocket barrel. They are mostly used when the A-10 is being used as an OA-10.

Same here, damn some one needs to make an A-10thatf14guy wrote:i like to see a 1/18 a-10 with all the ordnance you can imagine, even if it costs extra, no spots on it though.
The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

The Merit guy at AWH didnt say firmly they were going to make one but he didnt say they werent either. He in fact spoke to me for a while as to what options I would like to see so that leads me to believe its on the drawing board at least.

That's encouraging news usmcchet9296....
Hope that turns into something more than a head nod and just a discussion.
Definitely all the ordinance options they could make.
Other than the obvious ordinance, gun, engines, cockpit, and landing gear, the boarding ladder is another area of detail that would be cool to have.
If the ladder feature was done, a small detail that should be included is the ladder door art like these:

Of course you would have to do the research and make sure that the art work on the door matches the tail number and squadron for accuracy.

You can have spots on the A-10 and it be accurate......thatf14guy wrote:i like to see a 1/18 a-10 with all the ordnance you can imagine, even if it costs extra, no spots on it though.
