Great day at Walmart
Found a great example of the Spitfire and also found the 1/144 Spitfire-190 and the 1/144 Spitfire-Hayate dogfight sets.
Is there a 1/144 set with a P-47 and a 190 as well? I seem to remember that being mentioned

Found 2 spits at a Walmart just outside of town. They weren't with the other 21st toys, and almost hidden in the RC toy section.
As soon as the Brit Mustang and FW-190's kinda clear out we might see a bunch of these.
I looked and was hoping to spot the desert "White 7" Fw-190, but didn't see it. I'm hoping they mix it up with that one or another when finally hitting the shelves in force.

New 1/48 Armor at TRU
Stopped by my local TRU today and found new repaints of the 1/48 38T, and both Marders. The Marder and 38T repaints are the same schemes that have shown up at Target.

whoa........one of the local TRU just put out the Lanowski Black P-47 along with the black 1 fw190d9. I imagine anyone thats wants 'em has them by now, but I would not currently expect to see them in a local store.

Carefull.... if your blessed with a young daughter (under 10), you'll find that you get used to her tunes- beats the hell out of most other female vocalists popular at the moment. don't laugh........too much........stop, please.

OK, good, lets change the subject.. I bought a spitfire for my dad today-seeing these things just brings that out in a rational man- we still have his grammer school drawings of airplanes made during the early 40's

Darn, it very well may be official that Wal Mart is dumping (or at least moving along) the 32x products - and the Spitfires have yet to arrive in the west At least you got me one, Hworth18hworth18 wrote:Many Walmarts in my AO seem to be claerancing out the 1/32 planes and the going rate is $11.00
I guess that if anything good comes out of this, all those Bf-109F restocks will get sold in my area. They NEVER should have been there in the first place! The fact that nearly ALL the new releases for the past year have gone to the south and midwest - and only to those regions - is terrible. The hicks and farmers there don't need those toys anymore than do the hicks and farmers where I live, so why do they get the items first?
21c really should take an in-depth look at their relationship with Wal Mart and the way they distribute their products. It is the distribution system that killed XD and which has probably cost 21c a fortune in lost sales. Poor decisions on their part, simply poor decisions...

I only had time to hit one local WM this weekend, and this one is not well known for it's large 21C stock. All 1/32 AC and armor are $11 with the playsets $15. I haven't seen an RAF P-51D and only the S1 FW in this AO and have had to rely on fellow board members to help me out. So what aircraft do I find on clearance? You guessed it!
My only worry is this marks an end to cheap 1/32 from 21C...

Finally found the 32x Chinese Infantry figures at a local Wal Mart, though I know these are old news for much of the rest of the country. First time I've seen them. They looked good and are an interesting choice. They work well with the Japanese figures, US Army soldiers in ETO uniforms just not quite cutting it

Oh good, those planes have hit the west coast! I hope to see them in the Fresno area soon, assuming someone hasn't already grabbed them or 21c doesn't completely disappear from Wal Mart... I visited four Wal Marts today and found the usual P-51s, FW-190s and Bf-109s.

5 XRD Spits at the Carrollton, GA, WM. Already had one so I just checked a couple and they had QC errors, so I assumed the rest did too and pushed them back without looking. Fine from a toy standpoint, and probably easily fixable, but noticeable enough to someone who actually cared about the quality (especially considering its WM, fer F's sake). A few 38's and Marders over in the mark-down aisle along with tons of the MG-34 sets and 1/144 planes.

Well, then there is hope for those of us that can't find them at Target... Still, given that you've found the planes in the midwest, it will be months before they show up in my neck of the woods, if at all, so its still a loose-loose situationrmoore456 wrote:Found the 1/32 P-51 Double 00 and the FW 190 #2 at the Peru, Illinois Walmart today. Some new stuff, but nothing I gotta have- long tom kits w/crew at walmart, morter crew kits, chinese and russian infantry kits at TRU. The TRUs around the northern part of atlanta are mostly devoid of 1/18th AC-are they going to restock with anymore?? except for the one with 8 or so P-40s.

Found three 32x Spitfires today at one of the Fresno, CA Wal Marts Guess the distribution system finally pulled through this time, though the 21c quality control did not. All three had defects, whether it was paint scratches, blotches, or glue smears. The Spitfire I got from Hworth18 was in far better shape. I may still go back and get another, however
