thanks for the positive comments guys
about 3rd picture, I was realy careful but sometimes you have to take some risk
About the bushes and german cammo, there were a lot in september 1944 !
Also planed is the M3 halftrack and later the M16 but it need some work on it to make it looks like an M16

well, here is some tips on how to do :Black_Dragon_One wrote:how did you do that great weathering?
did you have to repaint the the Sherman
first, you have to repaint the Sherman (it's a S1 version). I use an airbrush and I start with a base coat to cover the whole vehicle. In this case it was a white coat. When dry, I apply a first coat of olive drab. Then after a second one to be sure I have covered all the vehicle.
When the second coat is dry, I apply a coat of olive drab slightly lighter on all surface center. You can see this on these pics:
I don't use the pre-shading option as I prefer to work with filter.
Before starting weathering, I use what I call the "black filter" to darken things. I apply a black paint and alcool solution in a 1/10 ratio.
Then start weathering...
This is important to know how a tank or any other vehicle is running and used by its crew. So you know where metal is supposed to be rusty or scraped, where paint is supposed to be sratched.
For rendering this, I use brushes, old brushes and once again color filters.
Then you can highlight parts with a dry brush of a clearer color. And to finish the work, add dust and mud on your vehicle. Just remember dust love plane surface, not vertical ones.
I hope it will help you.

Before dust and dry mud, here is an interesting view of how my Sherman is now turning.
As you may know, liberated population welcomed the allied troops friendly (and sometimes more friendly by girls ). In a lot of village or town, people writed on almost any vehicles their feeling of being free and gratheful to their liberator. Some used chalk, other paint. But all had to say something so after a moment, vehicles were literaly tagged. I have some pics of such tagged vehicles in early september in the Mons area so I decide to do the same on mine.
So here is a Spearhead Sherman tagged by people in the Mons area.
Amongst other things, you can read "long live American", "long live Patton", "hitler kaputt", "long live Belgium" and names of peoples.
All those tags are real testimony of this period.

Back in the days when I actually BUILT models we called that process a "black wash" and it is a very effective technique. The thin black solution flows down in to all the little cracks and crevices and replicates dirt, grime, and grease very well. You've done an outstanding job with the rust effects on that tank as well, very realistic and true to life IMO, well done.I use what I call the "black filter" to darken things. I apply a black paint and alcool solution in a 1/10 ratio.
