JAGDPANTHER IN 1/18

Post by problemchild » Sat Nov 11, 2006 3:33 pm

hi all it has been a while since I have posted summer has been just crazy for me winter is here so I can get back into this again.I thought I would post the jagd again and it would be here for others to use as reference or ideas.Having this spot is great for all of us who wan't to convert our stuff and get new ideas. The jagd was made from the panther cutting the top off and completely redoing al the upper structure. The muzzle brake is from the tiger with the lenght of panzer barrel used in middle and rear section of tiger barrel again was used. You can't build one of these with just using the panther barrel. The whole look of this tank is the huge 88 gun they fitted it with,as you can see barrells are taped for fitting at this point.
Image
I can't stress enough plans, you gotta have them before you start any kinda cutting.
Image
here is the tiger barrell, mantle made from super sculpey, back of mantle made from balsa foam.gun port reused from panther it is the same just needed to be built up with milliputt.
Image
here is back half door is scratch built other panter parts added screen mesh over engine covers.
Image
this pic shows almost ready for paint sprayed with tamiya as a base coat next spics will be series of painted shots note gun barrel this is the big part of the late war tank destroyers that sets them apart from there allied counter parts.Thank God the germans never mass produced these.

PC, great job on the Jagdpanther its also my favorite Panzer. I did this custom a few years ago and of all mods I've done this was the most fun. Love your work! Keep it up.
