Post by flyboy_fx » Thu Aug 18, 2016 4:44 pm

Got as much caught up and finished as I could over my few short months of summer break. I've got some more projects planned for winter break, including some more 1/18 buildings. Time to buckle down and study now. Hope you all enjoy!

I'm not sure I understand why you would go to all that trouble and not do anything to the radio in the 250. They weren't completely black:

I feel that you stop a step short of presenting a really nice piece with little things like that, as it's those little details that can elevate a model from good to great. I think you are talented enough to pull it off.

See what I did to the radio in the Tamiya Wespe:

A little white on a couple of knobs, and a couple of placards I took off an Airscale German cockpit detail set, plus my own cabling and it really pops now. You have pop in you; let me see it, man.

Fantastic work! I really like the Spitfire... Its very hard to tell it is the FOV version as you did a fantastic job of hiding that tooling's flaws. Did you redo the prop?

Very well done. I like the way your Airfix models came out.

I overlooked that detail and then school started, unfortunately. I'll be sure to include every bell and whistle in the 1/32 He219 coming December!

No, it's just a repaint of it! And yea, it's one scary model... I filled all the holes in the bottom of it! Much better after a paintjob at least.

And thank you everyone! I hope to have some even BETTER things to show off later in the year!

Well considering he painted 7 pieces in about the same 2 week period of time before heading back to college, it doesnt surprise me that he left off the dials on the radio. He isnt painting these things for IPMS Internationals for pete's sake. Can he do it? Sure he can. There is probably no doubt in any of our minds he could, and calling him out like that seems like something better left in a PM or something.

As usual Alex, phenominal work, and we all look forward to bigger and better things after your semester concludes.
