1/18 Dora Railway gun

Post by aferguson » Wed Jul 25, 2012 7:57 pm

Not in this lifetime, but i was looking for a project that wasn't too complicated yet still spectacular somehow....so i thought of doing a 1/18 Dora railway gun....or at least the gun barrel of it.

After doing some quick calculations, i figure it will be 71 inches long. It could be made from 2 1/2 inch, 2 1/4 inch, 3 inch and 3 1/2 inch pvc pipe and some creative detailing.

Paint it dark grey and then.......do what with it? Not sure. But i still think it would be cool.

I wonder how it was transported to far palaces, when some times there are tunnels and other things like electrical post cable.I can see the German infantry cutting the electricity cable, but what about tunnels?

Tunnels aren't such a problem. They painted black around the entry to make it bigger. But they have had some issues with this solution when the railway drives under bridges....
