FW190:Unit: 6.II/JG 2 = (Gruppe (group) 2, staffel (Squadron) 6. Jagdgeschwader (fighter wing) 2 (JG 2) "Richthofen".)
Rommelhausen-Stockheim, Germany, May 1945.

I think it came out great! The actual scheme is supposed to be Reichsluftfahrtministerium "RLM" 81/82, but I wanted it to look a bit more like the picture seen here. http://img.wp.scn.ru/camms/ar/456/pics/2_14.jpg

So I went with a RLM 71/81 scheme LOL, which would have never been mixed. (Google the RLM colors to see what they look like if you don't know)

Unfortunately the Yellow in the pics looks too neon, when in person it is more of a Orange tinted Yellow.

That looks darn fantastic :D

Nice ballance of weathering, paint detail, and unit markings to make a great-looking plane. I really like what you've done with the cowl-flaps.

That's really how 21c would have made their FW-190D look had it been made 4 years later than it was

I use a razor saw to saw off the nose then use it to split each cowl flap, funny irony is Im working on two doras right now, will post pictures when all done.

Yea, that would be cool! I do it the same way basically, saw off the front, split the cowlflaps, then bend them open.

It really transforms it from looking like a toy to a model more than any other detail, Im really impressed with your FW!

Great job, Flyboy.

These FW 190's make great candidates for repaints in both 1/32 and 1/18.

And yours look 8)

Now that I have seen this, I think the cowl flaps on all the radial engined aircraft should get this treatment !!! Corsair, P-47, Zero all would look great with the cowl flaps opened up.

Very nice, I don't know where you find the time to keep doing all these customs :lol 8) , you do still make it to class every now and then don't you  really, you have a great talent and its fun to see what you'll come up with next :D

That's a really class repaint, flyboy.

Maybe I should send you mine instead of tossing it, eh?

Sure, I can do a repaint for around $50-$90. Depending entirely on the scheme. :P

Right now I'm totally swamped with work to do. Can't take any more custom/RC work for the next 3 weeks.

I want some mods done before painting, so the project is never gonna get done, unfortunately.

I imagine she'd look aces with your paint on her, though.

Like what? Cowling is a really easy mod on the 21st FW. It only took me a half hour! YOu should definitely do that! What other mods? Maybe converting it to a TA-152!?!?!?! That would be SICK.

So did you just cut each cowl piece and reglue in the open position?

I just cut the whole nose off, split the flaps, bent them open, and reattached the nose. Filling any small imperfections I found, also.
