1/18 scale tank crew & infantry for T-34
I’m starting to sculpting 1/18 scale T-34 tank crew & infantry before I’ll receiving full build resin T-34 from Pickelhaube. I’ve done 2 rough shapes of them so far, that I’m planning to make 4 of them, which probably 1 tank commander and 3 Russian infantry are riding on the tank.
I’m building 1/18 scale Mosin Nagant rifle for Russian infantry, that the PPSH sub will be next for Russian soldier as well. First I have 1/6 Garand and Mosin Nagant for length check then go for 1/18 scale proportion.

Can't wait to see them

Re: 1/18 scale tank crew & infantry for T-34
The basic shape of the Mosin Nagant had carved by knife and sandpaper, specially the sharp edge of 2 pieces of styrene sheet, I thinning the trigger and magazine component to 2mm thick which is less than 4mm gun wide. A section of 2mm styrene rod as gun bolt part, than I used putty and little aluminum part for detail. The 1mm paper clip for barrel, the dressmakers pin for gas tube.
The completed 1/18 scale Mosin Nagant in shot with 1/6 Dragon Mosin Nagant.

Re: 1/18 scale tank crew & infantry for T-34
Just amazing work, always a pleasure to see what you will do next.
Re: 1/18 scale tank crew & infantry for T-34
Will you be making the bolt (If so, PLEASE make sure to do the straight bolt and not the curved one), front sight post, and the rear sight for the Mosin as well?

Yep, I'm following the straight bolt version.
Following those great reference, like Osprey and Concord publish of WWII series book will gain big help for making figurine. Here is how I started with tanker’s trousers.

I LOVE it! Will these only come w/figures, or will you be making them separately?
The attention to detail on this rifle is really good. I own one myself, and what really stands out is the back of the bolt-it looks just like it actually does.
EDIT: BTW, the 1/6 scoped mosin above, do you know what kind of scope situation that is? It looks like a PE mount, except for the part that goes down on the left side of the rifle. Looks cool.

I’m planning to complete them together, which is a set of them (4 figures) that I’ll be selling as same way of them.margras77 wrote:I LOVE it! Will these only come w/figures, or will you be making them separately?

Re: 1/18 scale tank crew & infantry for T-34
Thanks flyboy,
Some progress for this weekend, The clothes wrinkles are tricky part of the figure that I keep fixing couple times to make it look right, but later I’m starting again!
I made a mistake that the pants below knees area should be tack into boots smoothly which is not loose like.
Just receiving pickel's T-34 resin copy kit, this is much more fun than building injection kit. I place my clay figure on it that shows figures needs adjustment.

The figures look great. The T-34 looks small with the figures for ref. I guess, this tank was smaller than the Panther?
I'll have to find some ref. pics

Yes the T-34 was a smallish tank.
I have a book ( Armor in Korea ) that they show a T-34/85 next to a Sherman and it looks to be about 2-3 feet shorter in height.
I also have posted the Trumpeter 1/16 scale T-34 next to a1/16 FOV Tiger and it is VERY little compared to that.
Pastic Boy,
I kind of like the bloused look of the pants.
These are going to be sweet
