This is a serious GI Joe mod question

Post by dandaman » Sat Jul 11, 2009 12:19 pm

Ok, I seriously want to create a 1/18 Sarah Palin action figure.

The Baroness head sculpt would be perfect, but she needs an appropriate body. Believe it or not, I like the Storm Shadow body because his clothing is something I could see her wearing.

Can somebody put a Baroness head on a Storm Shadow body and post a pic?

Or do you have any other ideas?

I'm just going to go ahead and say it won't work without posting a pic (since I'm feeling lazy  ). First, the ball and sockets on the necks and heads are way different sizes, granted this could be modified to fit but then you're left with a pin-head (size-wise of course keeping politics out of it) on a muscular neck and torso leaving her looking all roid-raged or something. I can't really think of any 25th style female joe bodies that could work for Palin's attire though I definitely see the potential of using the Baroness headsculpt.

I'd look for a Star Wars body, Amidala or someone in one of her bajillion outfits could work. I'm not really up to date on what's available but I'm sure Jesse James or someone could offer some good advice as to figures that could work.

How about one of those 1/18 scale anime figure females with a head swap?

Photshop pic - Palin's head on another woman's gun-toting, bikini wearing body...

I saw the Golden Compass figure at a local Big Lots near me. If you want me to get one for you, pm me.

Thanks for the offer, but I have seen plenty of those Golden Compass figures at my local Big Lots. And they're expensive too. I think they were around $4.00?

I remember when they were on clearance at TRU for $1.00 each. I should have grabbed them then I suppose.

Anyways, I'm noticing that a lot of these GI Joe figures have great head sculpts. Their bodies suck however. Typical GI Joe fare in that regard. Great head sculpts though.
