There's some pioneering of it going on now EA, I'll see if I can dig up the link later on... The Transformers crowd is sort of at the forefront of this, but I've heard it worked on Star Wars figures too (new and vintage).

In regard to your question the way to remove yellowing and discolorization is by soaking the pieces in a solution of high concentration H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). The pieces are placed in a sealed clear glass contained with the solution and placed in direct sunlight. The results are dramatic. The things do get white as new, but the long term results and potential damage are unknown at this point. You can usually purchased a 27% solution at a local pool supply store. I have included a link to the transformer website forum where you can take a look at some pictures of pieces people have used this technique on. Hope this helps you out.

That's the info I was looking for to basically show... I'm not positive it works on clear plastics though, I don't recall. Just whites... SOmeone tried it on some vintage Stormtroopers with pretty great results.

I may give it a go myself with some more modern figures that have yellowed relatively quickly (VOTC Stormtroopers, etc.), and see what kind of improvement it gives it.

I have a vintage Luke Stormtrooper, but I'm not yet willing to try it on an $80 figure. ;)
