I was hot on making this project then Jack of Skyjerks fame had his 3-d printer guy made his to get the scoop on me.

The words " I did it to get back and to spite you " came from his lips ( Jack's lips ).

So I shelved it along with my Japanese Tony.

He made that one to spite me as well.

He was such a nice guy and paid back all the people he took money from.

Yeah right

I have not touched it since these pics. :?

Put me down for one as well Matthew. This is one custom I've always wanted to have, along with the 190A.

What a long story .

Jack Polanka The owner of now out of business Skyworks ( Skyjerks ) was a customizer who started out making mods for 1/18th scale planes.

I think his first work was a mod for the P-51 mustang.

At first he was a nice guy and he and I got along fine as a matter of fact we were going to go in together on my P-36 project.

Things were good but Jack NEVER DID WHAT HE SAID WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO.

I sent him about 6 P-40 and my custom P-36 kits with custom decals that Jackson made for me.

He did not do a thing for over 6 months so I told him to send everything back.

Well he sent somethings and not others . He said that he will send the rest ASAP.

I have been waiting for about 3 years and have seen the package yet.

Anyway back then I got pissed and had the cops sent over there to retrieve my goods. The cops went over there and of course nothing happened.

Then I slammed him on this forum calling him a thief and all and if anybody who were buying my goods off of him they were aiding and abetting a thief.

He did not like this and threatened to sue me and the moderators and owners of this forum.

At the time I was making this P-40 version and Tony.

He knew about this and got hooked up with a company that makes 3-d products and they made all of his offerings from then on.

I think that he made a few things by hand but once he got connected with the 3-d printed they made all of his prototypes.

He also made some metal landing gear ( those were sub contracted out as well ) and quite a few other offerings.

Well he took money from people for his products o and one day he decided that he was going to work for a automobile firm in Detroit and screwed countless of people.

Basically taking their money and running.

I would say probably thousands of dollars from board members right here.

I did tell many a person to not deal with him, but unfortunately not everybody listened to me.

He had his own web page advertising his products but sold almost exclusively through Military Toys.

To date they have never come forward and explained their connection with Jack and the wrong to which he did to others.

Probably trying to distance themselves from this common thief.

F*CK JACK! I'll never see my money or planes again either...

Yea Military toy shop pisses me off also. I called them ans asked about trying to get replacement parts for skyworks items. They acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Like Matthew said distancing themselves OK sure. There prices are all outrageous also. Screw them and Jack both.

Only ever had one dealing with Jack, but I ran it through Military Toy Shop, just to be safe. They had the kit in stock and sold it to me, so I didn't have to deal directly with Jack. I purchased an ME-163 Komet kit that was put on sale for a reduced price of $149.99.

I got it in a timely manner and everything (again because I was dealing with MTS and not Jack himself). As for the kit, there was just something that bugged me about it and the way it was designed to go together. It seemed easy enough to build, but there were some critical components that were left up to the builder that probably shouldn't have been. Also, the fuselage halves came glued together with the cockpit tub loose outside. How the heck was that supposed to go in without breaking?

Mind you, I had already built Pickelhaube's SDK-222 kit, which essentially started off as a mass of unsanded, ill fitting parts, but which ultimately came together like a dream. Pickelhaube also included everything I needed in that kit - which he always does 8)

In short, I never finished the Skyworks kit and eventually sold it to another board member.

I also still have 1 of Jacks factory second 163 Komet kits. It is missing the tail rudder and fuselage also comes as 1 piece. The wings look like impossible to ever get right. The decals are terrible also. Too thick and glad Jackson made me some for the Hurricane.

I'd stil buy a P-40 if you end up picking up this project again. Ya know, once you get all those other projects completed! ;)
