LVT-4 scratchbuild

Post by AJWW2 » Thu Dec 13, 2018 10:19 am

just started building a 1:18 LVT-4 the other day. Using an AFV Club 1/35 kit and photoshop-scaled schematics as guides.

All Styrene so far, just getting the shape down. This is my first real scratchbuilding project.

I was inspired by watching HBO’s The Pacific, highly recommended.

I have some ideas about the unique track links, possible 3D printing, could get costly, not sure yet.

Neat project. Looks good so far. The Marines have been needing something like that for some time.

Now that I think about it, a member named Red did a LVT of some type.

RED’s stuff was amazing, unfortunately his picture hosting service expired or something so all his old photos aren’t viewable.

Awesome project idea. I can help with the tracks and other odd bits like brackets or hatch covers if it would help you. LMK

Nice start .

Yes the tracks and running gear will be the challange
But if you cheat and make it as a traveling in water dio, you can get out of making them.
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller
