A Phillipines AF P-26: December 1941
A Phillipines AF P-26: December 1941
I redid an HM P-26 a while ago in what I presume are correct Phillipines AF colors from December 1941. There is a lot of contradictory evidence on this score so I went with the following artist's rendition---lower left---- for the most part:

This is how the HM model now looks:

And the underside:

Very nice! Wonder why Hobby Master hasn't done that or a similar Philippene scheme yet. They've been cranking out the 1930s USAAF versions as of late.
ketelone, the HM P-26 is 1:48 scale. In stock form, it comes fully rigged with two different sets of bombs that mount to the underside as well as a pilot figure.
I've got the 95th Pursuit Sq. version, which I think may be the S1 model. Its in the same scheme the P-26 at the "Planes of Fame" museum is currently wearing. I also have the USAAF 1943 version in the OD green with noseart.

I actually have this plane from a kit. It's Army Air Corp, pre-war. The Philippine paint job looks great.

Thanks, guys. After looking at my pictures I think I'll add some staining to the model.

Very nice! Now that I'm at the very beginning of learning to use an airbrush, I can appreciate your skills even more
