True. True. LOL. Hey thanks by the way for the replacement gear on this project. Without your assistance this "Butcher Bird" would still be a lame duck.Folkwulfe wrote:With a name like "Folkwulfe" would I lie to you????tko211 wrote:I loved reading the extra stuff posted about Barkhorn. The comment about 302 downed allied aircraft is priceless.

All metal Zero scheme. I Have had this one done for a LONG time minus some final markings. I got around to painting those on this morning and this is the final result. I concentrated on using multiple shades of silver on various panels and then finally some weathering. I am happy with the end result of this custom.
Enjoy-

This one is taken from a few old photos that have surfaced over the years. I am not a Zero expert at all, but my understanding is that there were indeed some all metal Zero schemes. Someone smarter than me on this subject might chime in and give us the scoop. Here is the reference image I used.
The type zero that BBi makes is obviously not the same as in the photo but I took that liberty and decided to go ahead with the scheme anyways. I just wanted to do something different.

I stand corrected
Sweet rendition !!!!!
After a very long delay in painting on the final markings, my I introduce the latest in my Aggressor series: The F-16 Falcon in Alaska 18th Aggressors paint. These Aggressors have participate in many training missions including Red Flag. there are a few different color schemes to choose from, however I really liked this one the best.
I used new vinyl stencils supplied from my local shopping mall and these work really well as my new resource since my sister sold her plotter months ago. As usual all the markings are either masked off and salvaged from the original scheme or they are all painted on using this vinyl stencil method. It's a striking scheme in person and I am quite pleased with the final result.
A HUGE thanks to FW on our forum as he was kind enough to sell me his spare falcon at a really reasonable price. AWESOME!
Hope you all enjoy.

I strictly use Tamyia paints for anything in regards rattle cans. It dries fast, holds up really well to the touch after it dries, and sprays on real evenly. I used 4 different silver colors for the plane. I forget the exact names but Natural Aluminum is one of them.mkxiv wrote:Great looking re-paints TKO!
I am interested to know what paints you used on that zero?

The white is Matt White. The Red is first sprayed with Bright red and then over sprayed with Dull Red to darken it just a little. (this makes a PERFECT red color)
So except for the weathering which is done with an airbrush it's all rattle cans for this one. It was a really quick repaint. Only took about 3 hours. The markings took me forever to get around to producing since my sis sold her cutter.
But the shopping mall right up the street from me just opened a vinyl sticker / cutting kiosk (go figure) and now it's supper easy and quick again!
Doing my MiG-15 and P-15 next!
