Stumbled across this very cool satellite imagery. I counted over 50 helicopters. Apaches, Blackhawks and Little Birds...

Yeah, that's strange because Republic Airport in LI NY is blurred, dont know why

you don't know why it's blured ? i remember when googleearth was launched, some governments (including the US) asked to blur some areas that may be terrorist targets

Is that base still active? If not, and these photos are a couple years old, then there's no need to blur it out.

Want some fun on these satellite photos? Look around the Nevada Test Site, and find all the wierd airstrips, bombing ranges, and whose knows what they are. Around what they call "Area 19", there's even a railroad line.

I got a plugin for google Earth that shows where pretty much every atomic test was carried out around the globe plus gives some info on it. The Nevada Test Site is HUGE and looking at all the craters from the undergound test is

There is a lot of weird stuff out there.

You can also see where some of the islands in the pacific were vaporized by the tests.

That was pretty interesting. Especially the vela incident (test no one knows who actually did it...)..

Found this too: Hawthorne Ammunition Depot. Almost 2,500 individual bunkers!
