Sounds like my kind of movie. When Hollywood critics pan a movie for paying too much attention to accurate detail and not enough about "character development" I'm in. I want action and realistic action in a film like this. I can watch a quirky non historical character study movie if I only care about the other crap.

There are so many untold true stories from the war. Why is Hanks doing a fictional one?

I am passing.

It's always easier to do fiction or "based on actual events" for taking liberties in the drama and characters. The critics apparently thought he still didn't take enough. They said it was more like a docudrama. I don't think critics like true stories unless they are highly embellished.
