Does make you wonder about the USAF's agenda when it comes to the A-10?

Trying to free up funds for the F-35, at the cost of other programs. Wouldn't surprise me, but would be a mistake.

BTW, A-10's have just been sent to Germany, in response to further Ukraine fighting. Lots of life left in the venerable Warthog.

They can't just give them to the Army because of a stupid rule made after WWII separating the forces.
They are ones who really need them and could loose lives when they are gone.
Remember the USAAF? :?

The Air Force can stick to their Nintendo warfare.

Sure is shameful how political it all is...

Nothing but an arbitrary "rule" saying the army cannot have combat jet aircraft, regardless of their intended use and purpose, is keeping them out of Army aviator's hands. Seems to me a mentality like that of a selfish child not wanting to share. There is very little actual and practical reasoning behind not giving the A-10 to the Army. We already share a great many facilities and utilize the same fuel types with existing rotary wing assets, and are the main customer of A-10 ground support.

I know it will never happen, but the idea of a Army infantryman, talking to and Army JTAC, who is in turn calling in a Army A-10, seems to me a much more practical way of doing things than the current method.
